If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, some of the most prominent conservative voices in the country say they would find it difficult, if not impossible, to support him.
Trump has sparred with many of Americaâs most noted conservative opinion makers over the course of his campaign, calling them âlosersâ and âidiotsâ on Twitter when they criticize him in columns and on television for what they perceive as his âclown[ish]â behavior, history of supporting liberal positions and demagoguery. But as it becomes increasingly evident the real estate billionaire actually has a real shot of winning the nomination, some are outright declaring that they wouldnât support Trump as the nominee, even against Hillary Clinton.
âCouldnât vote for Trump, couldnât vote for Hillary,â Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol told The Daily Caller in an email.
âWould have to find a good conservative to run as an independent whom I could vote for,â he added, before presumably joking: âOr will have to run myself!â
Conservative radio talk show host Michael Medved said he has begun to question whether he could support Trump as the Republican nominee.

A couple of questionable “conservatives”.
Bless their little hearts.
Too bad. We are sick of the GOP establishment and their losing ways.
To be accurate, Medved only seems to be saying he’s struggling with whether he can support Trump. Doesn’t seem to have said outright that he can’t.
Kristol and Medved has been on the payroll of The Cheap Labor Express for years. One cannot be considered conservative when advocating abandoning the rule of law.
Kristol Medved LoL. No big loss.
“Top conservatives?” Kristol and Medved?
“Top” as in they spin like one for elitist establishment country club Republicans.
Not a true conservative in the batch!
Well, that about says it all, doesn’t it.

Medved has been badmouthing Trump for weeks, along with guest Karl Rove the other day. We don’t need these wimps.
They're not alone.
No more Medved for me. He’s always been pretty squishy.
Michael Medved isn’t a conservative. He’s a moderate and still unwilling to call out specific people as Socialists. He admits he was once one himself (decades ago).
Also, Michael Medved knew Hillary Clinton personally in college.
Kristol and Medved are not conservatives.
Kristol is an especially foul establishment neo-con.
What? The gate only swings one way?
It’s idiots like these that gives Hillary and the DNC free reign over all of us. Some “litmus test” that so-called “conservatives” refuse to get behind. Whether it was Romney and his Mormon roots, or someone else; they never ask “is the DNC candidate a better choice?”. Often times, you hold your nose, and pull the lever.
I held my nose and voted for McCain, I held my nose and voted for Dole.
Both were losers, but; IMHO - both were better than the DNC option we got instead.
IMHO, Trump is a welcome breathe of fresh air. He may not be the best, most conservative candidate that the country has ever seen. But, he has the b@lls to say what he, and many other americans feel in their heart. I don’t think he can be bought, which is more than you can say for 99.9% of the members found in Congress.
What is a top conservative? Sounds like evidence of a pecking order.
