A permanent new US “expeditionary force†will target Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, operating independently of local troops in Iraq and Syria for the first time, defense secretary Ash Carter has revealed, in a significant escalation of the frontline use of American ground troops in the region.
Addressing Congressional leaders who are demanding swifter progress against Isis, Carter said on Tuesday that the troops would be based in Iraq but will have the capability to carry out raids across the border.
“It puts everybody on notice in Syria,†he said. “You don’t know at night who is going to be coming in the window.â€

Even NBC and Lester Holt played Obama telling Holt there would be no troops / boots on the ground (can’t remember what phrase) in Syria to combat ISIS.

Why would the troops need to "carry out raids across the border" when there are plenty of these ISIS cavemen in Iraq? Doesn't ISIS control Mosul? Seems like that would a good place to start killing the bastards.

The Iraqi President says he doesn’t want any more US troops. Some of the Iraqi militia groups have said that they will turn to attack the Americans, The Syrian government is at war with US supplied terrorists who are trying to spread the caliphate; what are we doing? (rhetorical question)

Typical pussified response. Being sneaks who raid and run isn’t what made the world fear us. A conventional ass pounding and a couple of GIs standing on every street corner afterwards. That’s what works.
Anyway, this is like our bombing campaign. It isn’t sincere. Its designed to look good and to make those areas difficult for the Russians to bomb.
