The U.S. has been supplying Ukrainian forces with obsolete equipment, some of which dates back almost thirty years, according to a published report.
The Washington Post reported that Ukrainian government forces battling Russia-supported rebels in the east of that country have called into question Washington's commitment to them based on the shoddy gear. The paper also reported that the lack of sufficient equipment has bred distrust and lowered Ukrainian morale.

Russia's annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in March 2014 and its support for the rebels has brought relations between the two countries to a post-Soviet low. Ukraine has since been trying to cut its dependence on Russian gas.
Last week, Ukraine announced that it would stop buying Russian natural gas â hoping to rely on supplies from other countries â and closed its airspace to its eastern neighbor. Ukraine last month banned all Russian airlines from flying into Ukraine but Russian planes have been allowed to fly over its territory.

I thought Russia “cut off” NG supplies to Ukraine. Which?
Unfortunately the choice is between our old gear and no gear. Ukraines defense establishment has been woefully underfunded for years.
Ukraine got cut off for unpaid bills
I don’t know how pathetic it is watching UKraine self destruct over relying on allies like the US .... Given our incredibly inept policy makers
Putin is much closer to their borders and to us, Ukraine is just a tool to use against him
Hey, want to buy a used tank?
You mean to the Russkies? Not only was Ukraine decimated by a Russian puppet and a Pro-Russian FSB political party, the Russkies stole an entire peninsula from them as well as inflicted upon them a terror war that has severely damaged their economy.
It's to their credit that they've managed to kill more than 4 thousand of Russia's forces and to cobble together a military from the brink of defeat. Meanwhile, Putin's vaunted military couldn't overpower a gaggle of passionate militia and poorly trained conscripts.
That is because Obama is supplying ISIS with all the good stuff....No time for Ukraine.
Here’s a test of one piece of obsolete equipment that didn’t go quite well.

Agreed.
Obastard is treasonous.
More military equipment fails.

It is this kind of propaganda that is going to cause WWIII. The Crimea and its ports have been Russian as long as we have been a nation. Russia will no more give up Sevastopol than we will give up Hawaii. Assigning Crimea to the Ukraine was an administrative arrangement under Kruschev.
Facts? WTF? /s
The US is no heroes here
We have turned UKraine into another proxy battlefield aimed at Russia - or is it aimed at Putin who has inspired Barry to make it personal
We are just as responsible if not more for the results
1.5 MILLION displaced people
Deaths I have not counted, have not paid attention to this hidden war
Entire regions with no electricity or clean water
Battles between armed militias that are making UKraine look like WW2 redux
Introduction of foreign mercenaries trained abroad
McCain and company must be very proud
Sorry, the best US stuff is earmarked for ISIS, Ukrainians aren't Muslim enough, and it unlikely they'll ever get off the plantation now.
Serfdom under Soros, it's the future.
They must be remembered when the time comes for the trials.
:-)
Since Catherine the Great. Look it up yourself.
Sarcasm, dude, sarcasm.
See a pattern here?
Obsolete is relative. For example, most US pilots refused to fly in the odd aircraft, the Bell P-39 Airacobra, calling it a “flying coffin”.

So we gave them to the Soviet Union. Their pilots considered it the best aircraft ever, a real “can opener” of German tanks.
Yet another Barack Obama foreign policy triumph.
