Ted Cruz Won’t Rule Out Legalization for 11 Million in U.S. Illegally
time.com ^ | Nov. 20

Posted on 11/30/2015 11:55:21 PM PST by Helicondelta

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz declined to close the door to a potential pathway to legal status for the 11 million people in the U.S. illegally Friday, saying he wouldn’t elaborate on his plans for them until after the border is secure.

Seeking to carve out a space between real estate mogul Donald Trump, who is calling for the forcible deportation of those in the U.S. illegally, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who co-authored the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill that included a pathway to citizenship, Cruz would not explicitly rule out a pathway to legal status for the undocumented.

It’s a toss up between Trump’s campaign pushing this meme or Maco Rubio’s campaign pushing this meme.

Then again, with Cruz rising in the polls, maybe both.

That seems to be the definitive difference between him and Trump.
Trump has spoken up as to what he wants to do.

HaHa...Cruz will tell you his plan after you elect him??? Where have we heard that before???

What's up with these politicians...That's exactly why Trump is doing so well and Cruz and the other politicians are doing so poorly...

We only assume it’s 11 million. Logic says it’s likely many more. I think it’s at least 5 million in California alone.

When the last Bush was running it was twenty million...I'm surprised they haven't whittled it down to two or three million by now...

Unless there's a video tape saying this

(my concerns about Cruz started when he got played on the trade deal, so I've been "labelled" by his supporters)

What Cruz has to do is come out and say he'd send home invaders. Silence on this very serious issue, primary to saving the US, is worse than saying he won't deport invaders. I want to know where a candidate is at, in his own words!

When and where did he say he’d support amnesty? Show the article or video where Cruz states “I support Amnesty”.,p.

Cruz said at a primetime Republican debate Aug. 6.

“A majority of the candidates on this stage have supported amnesty,” he said. “I have never supported amnesty, and I led the fight against Chuck Schumer’s gang of eight amnesty legislation in the Senate.

Cruz considered the 2013 bipartisan Senate immigration proposal to be a form of amnesty and opposed the bill. Cruz proposed amendments to the Gang of 8 bill that would strengthen border security, expand green card opportunities, increase high-skilled H1B visas, prevent illegal aliens from receiving welfare benefits, and enforce the rule of law.

Cruz proposed legislation to prevent Obama from illegally expanding amnesty.

We only assume it's 11 million.

The 11 million figure is from the same government that tells us there's no inflation, and the unemployment rate is around 5%. Mexico knows that's a lie, and says the true number is around 30 million.

Come on Cruz... clearly state, where do you stand on ILLEGAL amnesty?

He practically stood alone against the Gang of Eight*s amnesty and took a boatload of crap for it. He took the lead in defeating it.

CRUZ PLAN TO STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: SECURE THE BORDER, RESTORE THE RULE OF LAW, AND PROTECT AMERICANS.

One section:

Enforce the law: Restore our commitment to enforcement and public safety and the Rule of Law by rededicating DHS to fully enforcing the law, including through deportations and returns.

During the first five years of the Obama Administration, President Obama removed or returned only 3.8 million illegal entrants. That is a fraction of the removals and returns during the previous five years, and a fraction of what we could accomplish if we had a President who actually forced DHS to do its job and removed politics from an agency charged with law enforcement. As President, I would do just that.

End catch-and-release: Return illegal immigrants who are caught at our borders and ports to their countries of origin.

It's worth a read.

He needs to say where he stands on amnesty. If pro-amnesty, he will have the same fate as Scott Walker.

even Trump has said he’ll let the good illegals come back into the country which I don’t agree with. They broke our laws and dont get another chance.

The media lies about Trump and Cruz so I’ll hear what they have to say and not what the media says they said before I make up my mind

"Trump has spent years courting Hillary and other Dems ... blah-de-blah-blah-de-blah-blah-blah..."

A day without cherry picking Trump statements combined with your pathological Trump-hating is like a day without sunshine, eh CW? How about a few kind words for say, Ben Carson?

That ought to kill off whatever is left of his campaign, how about it, are you in? That would make it Perry, Walker and Carson, a perfect TRIFECTA!

Have a nice day.

Just for historical accuracy, Scott Walker revoked instate tuition for illegals mere months into his first term in 2011 (only governor and state to do this).

You are wrong. Trump says they have to go back and apply, just like everyone else. Some who are proven to be honest operators, outside of their 1 known violation of the law, may be given some sort of preferential treatment on a case by case basis, but they all have to go back.

Their pathway will be pretty much the same as anyone, when it is done legally.

And just for historical accuracy, Scott Walker's campaign is still dead, just like General Francisco Franco.

I can’t find it now, but I did see a report from MSNBC I think was last night where Cruz is in some warehouse and refused to answer the question about his stance on amnesty, or to define it.

"Now, I am categorically opposed to amnesty," Cruz continued, criticizing Rubio, who in recent months has toned down his prior calls for a pathway to citizenship.. "I have led the fight against a pathway to citizenship. Indeed, if you look at the Republican field, if you look at the candidates standing on that debate stage, a majority of the candidates standing on that debate stage publicly vigorously supported amnesty."

This is the second to last paragraph of the article.
