A 7th Grader Wouldn’t Back Down When Her Teacher Told Her to Deny God. Then Came the Backlash.
Independent Journal ^ | 28 Nov 2015 | Jed Smith

A Texas girl spoke out after her teacher alleged made her say "God is a myth," has experienced fallout for standing up for herself and her beliefs.

Twelve-year-old Jordan Wooley says she has been bullied and told to kill herself following media coverage of her story.

It started when Wooley's teacher assigned a quiz at Katy, Texas's West Memorial Junior High School asking students to label statements as "fact, assertion, or opinion."

Statements included "America is the most free country on Earth," and "there is a God." Jordan labeled the latter as "fact,' and her teacher told her to mark it otherwise, or face an "F" grade.

The Katy Independent School District claimed that it never happened and that Wooley's story could not be verified. But Wooley would not relent, calling the school board "liars," and demanding an apology in a statement on Monday.

What’s to stop the girl or her parents from telling the public the teacher’s name?

My HS was a private Christian HS where everyone wore ties to school, and thank God to my parents who got me in because public school blows. A place where the Christian Studies teacher and the science teachers got along. But I wasn’t no choir boy either ;)

Well you wont find it here in L.A unless it’s college. I went to a private academy and if this teacher even made this stupid remark, the academy would even help pack her stuff the same afternoon.

And then they are recalled in the next election. Happened in Colorado earlier this month. The education system is massive and all powerful.

I'm confused. Why would a teacher be telling a student to change her answer on a quiz? Wouldn't she mark the answer incorrect (which would still be wrong, but that's not the point) and just grade the quiz? When was the last time you had a teacher tell you to change an answer on a quiz or test in order to get a better grade?

I went to a public school and if a teacher ever pulled something like that the principal would have kick her butt out the door.

Of course, that was many years ago. Different times.

Recording conversations with smart phones seem to be in order here. Difficult to fight when it is recorded and distributed on the Internet. Let them lie and deny and hang themselves first.

More and more people are homeschooling to avoid the idiot liberal indoctrination centers the public school system has become.

I know many professionals that now stay home to home school and it is working nicely for them.

A teacher who is more interested in indoctrination than instilling knowledge and facts.

The Katy Independent School District claimed that it never happened and that Wooley's story could not be verified.

This news story from October 28, Student: Teacher taught 'God is not real', says otherwise.

On Tuesday, the school district released a statement saying, in part, that the assignment was intended to encourage critical thinking and dialogue and not question any students' religious beliefs.

"Still this does not excuse the fact that this ungraded activity was ill-conceived and because of that, its intent had been misconstrued," the district said in its statement.

Note that the story's link to the school district's statement is now dead.

And then they are recalled in the next election.

How did it happen? Share the experience so that we can learn from whatever mistake was made.

and we need to see that certain teachers and school board members are fired!

Fired like Hell, they need to face the same penalties as some of their depraved and deluded ilk were wishing on that brave little 12 yr old girl. "kill yourself" they say?

Find the bastards and string THEM up with some damn piano wire!

If those godless, traitorous progressive scum want a civil war, I have no doubt that REAL American patriots will GIVE them one!

Thankfully that can NEVER happen at the schools where MY CHILDREN go to, as we don’t live ‘THERE’, but rather live in a town were the teachers are human, to the point of even seeing them in church and the supermarket. We have NO DOUBT that the teachers we deal with would (gladly) be fired, rather than to agree to carry out orders from above (possibly at the state or national level).

So, silly of that family to live in a town where the teachers simply WILL NOT stand up to that level of control and abuse. They need to leave.

To find the teacher’s name, click on each of the 7th grade teacher’s pages at the link. You can eliminate the first one because she’s religious. My money is on the one who’s page is blank. But bet you could get it more definite with a little searching.

We sent our daughter to a Christian school. She went on to graduate with honors from an Ivy league University. She has kept her faith, the University treated her with respect, and was not nearly as bad as some say.
