Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson denounced "hateful rhetoric" across the political spectrum in the wake of a shooting at a Colorado Planned Parenthood facility that left three people dead.
Abortion rights supporters have said that such rhetoric has motivated violence against Planned Parenthood clinics around the country.
"There is no question that you know hateful rhetoric no matter which side it comes from - right or left - is something that is detrimental to our society," Carson said on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday when asked about their claims. "Our strength in this country has traditionally been in our unity. And we are allowing all kinds of circumstances to divide us and make us hateful toward each other. And the rhetoric is extremely immature, divisive and is not helpful when you have outside forces - global Islamic radical jihadists who want to destroy us."
He added that there's "No question the hateful rhetoric exacerbates the situation" and urged "intelligent, civil discussion" about differences. Asked whether opponents of abortion should tone down their rhetoric, he said both sides should do so.

We should love the Baby Killers, Dr. Carson?
I see that Carson took the “hateful rhetoric” bait, as if it was “hateful rhetoric” that caused a mentally-deranged, disoriented pothead to shoot people.
Well, he went to Ferguson and said he wouldn’t have shot the 300 lb monster. Carson has so much cr**.
Baloney. Baloney. Baloney. Our strength in this country has come from when non-traitorous Americans have defeated the Commies in the government, the universities, and the churches. Our country has been weakest when the Commies and baby-killers have gained the upper hand.
No, but maybe he would have tried to stab him! /s, just in case.
What hateful rhetoric is the rocket surgeon referring to?
or hit him in the head with a hammer.
I am sure I haven’t heard everything out there, but, generally speaking, I don’t hear hateful rhetoric from the pro-life people. It sounds more like love, for both the baby and the mother.
Let’s all be nice ok?
No.
Dr. Carson you can’t assert that words are the cause of this violence. Words are a symptom of something. That something is the cause of the violence.
PC will not help resolve that something. PC will exacerbate that something.
Talking helps provided it’s truth and not pc speech.
Ben comes down on the right side of every issue..not...
On the one hand we have soulless profiteers preying on vulnerable women, brutally murdering preborn human beings, cutting them apart without anesthesia to sell their body parts. They cloak their acts as helping women while they fight regulations that would at least mandate a relationship with a local hospital with the backup protection and credentialing oversight that would entail. That requirement is mandated for any other free standing center that performs surgery but these cynical opportunists decry it as anti woman bias.
On the other hand we have people speaking out about the horrors they have seen and in some cases participated in. We have people who believe our common humanity is being splintered by these violent tortures of the most defenseless among us.
So which is Ben speaking out against...the rhetoric of course...we shouldn’t say nasty things...
'I'm from the government Karl Rove and I'm here to help'.
Oh yeah, the hateful rhetoric caused this. Caused a transgendered male who “identifies as a woman” who was denied an abortion because, i dunno- he has no uterus per se to shoot up a clinic. Yeah “hateful rhetoric” caused this. Or a batshit crazy guy wearing a wig. One of the two. ( hint: it’s not # 1 )
CC
Stick a fork in Carson, he’s done.
I don’t know, but he sounds just like obama and his speech on civil discourse. No one condones what this man did, but, neither do we condone what is being done inside the four walls of abortion clinics.
>>Asked whether opponents of abortion should tone down their rhetoric
They. Kill. Humans!
How do you tone that down? “If it saves one life”???
Man, he’s earning that Karl Rove money already!
