*Update: NBC affiliate WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh is reporting the officer is from the New Florence Police Department.
NEW FLORENCE, Pa. Police said a gunman is on the loose in the area of New Florence, Westmoreland Co., just 13 miles west of Johnstown.
Sources tell 6 News an officer was responding to a domestic dispute at a house on the 100 block of Ligonier Street in New Florence. Those sources said the officer was shot and found in the yard of a burning house.
State Police and many other agencies, including Johnstown Police are converging on the location.
Sources told 6 News the officer was brought to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.

Sorry. For future reference, I normally just look for the scanner on that page that has the most listeners.
Sometimes back-up simply is not available.
Happened many times to me back in the late 70’s as a police officer in Texas.

Simple answer, budget cuts. Instead of hiring more police officers, more than likely the funds are directed towards the “welfare” of the “gimmedats” street rats.
