Obama urges gun control after Colorado Springs shooting: 'Enough is enough'

Robert Lewis Dear, a 57-year-old from North Carolina, has been named as the suspected gunman behind a standoff at a Planned Parenthood health clinic in which three people died and nine were injured.

After he was named, Barack Obama said on Saturday the US had “to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them”.

“Period,” the president added, in a statement released by the White House. “Enough is enough.”

Officials speaking off the record gave the suspect’s identity to news outlets late on Friday. On Saturday morning, the city of Colorado Springs confirmed Dear’s identity and released a booking photo taken at the El Paso County criminal justice center.

Early reports portrayed Dear as a loner who lived in a rural cabin and did not noticeably discuss issues such as religion or abortion. Motive therefore remained unclear in the attack, which police said on Friday was carried out with a “long gun” – usually a reference to a rifle or shotgun.

On Saturday, Colorado Springs mayor John Suthers told reporters authorities were not ready to discuss a possible motive for the shooting, but said people could make “inferences from where it took place”.

Suthers said investigators had interviewed Dear but added wanted to learn more about him.

On Saturday, a police spokesperson said unspecified “items” left at the scene by the suspect had been “secured and and processed, and are no longer a threat”.

The crime scene perimeter around the Planned Parenthood clinic had been reduced significantly and those whose cars were parked in a grocery store parking lot nearby were able to take their cars home.

Patriots, please bear in mind that Obama is not the main problem with the erosion of our constitutional rights imo. More specifically, Congress has always had the constitutional authority to impeach and remove lawless Obama from office but has stubbornly refused to do so.

In other words, by sitting on its hands concerning Obama, corrupt Congress is passively supporting the presidents unconstitutional actions.

Remember in November 2016 by electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will support the new conservative president.

Anything you can afford and afford to feed. Practice is very important. Surplus bolt action rifles can be gotten for as little as $100 and there is still surplus ammo available reasonably cheap.
If you have the money and don’t live in a communist state, a semi-auto in 5.56x45, 7.62x39 or 7.62x51.
Ruger mini 30, AK variant or an AR variant. Ruger has a very nice AR556 that I’ve seen as low as $535

We will know if the guy was just crazy, a leftist, or environmentalist Monday morning. If we hear nothing else then I rest my case. If the guy has a Trump bumper sticker or a Limbaugh book then we will hear about this non stop until the 2016 election.

If you are pinching pennies, want a new rifle, but live in one of those commie states that prohibit a decent AR15 type semi-auto rifle which can be had for around $500, here is a bolt action alternative. Add a decent scope and you can be out the door for under $350 and you'll have a decent game hunting rifle, too.

Of course, if you want to go really cheap and maybe mate a pistol cartridge to a rifle (giving you better accuracy and range and an increase in stopping power over your pistol), here is another good choice. Add a few extra mags for $25 and you are in business for even less than the bolt action, above.

Your local gun store probably has similar offerings. There are a lot of very useable rifles out there right now at a good price that won't break the bank.
