U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump's support among Republicans has dropped 12 points in less than a week, marking the real estate mogul's biggest decline since he vaulted to the top of the field in July, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Trump was the favorite of 31 percent of Republicans in a rolling poll in the five days ended on Nov. 27. That was down from a peak of 43 percent registered on Nov. 22.
The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.
Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.
Trump has also been criticized for flailing his arms and distorting his speech as he mocked a New York Times reporter, Serge Kovaleski, who is disabled.
Trump mocked the reporter as he defended his unsubstantiated assertion that during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, he watched on television as "thousands and thousands" of people in New Jersey cheered while the World Trade Center fell.
Still, Trump is not the only front-runner to slide in the latest survey.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has seen his poll numbers drift downward and now trails Trump by more than half, with just 15 percent of Republicans polled saying they would vote for him in the same Nov. 27 poll. As recently as late October, Carson trailed Trump by only six points.
Following Carson, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are tied for third place, with more than 8 percent each.

Where was Cruz in that poll?
I wonder who is have the biggest orgasm, the MSM, the GOPe, the Democrats or the Trump bashers here on Facebook.
My humble suggestion for all of the above and the Trump backers is, a grain of salt. Iodized of course.
Carson is at second, but not for long his collapse is slow, but it is happening.
So trump is only a little over double his nearest competitor?
I guess he should drop out any day now.
When I see any of the other candidates getting more than a couple hundred people at a rally, then I will think the tide is turning. But as long as Trump keeps out turning thousands (and tens of thousands) of supporters at his rally I believe the wind is at his back. GO Trump!
Dream on Dude. LOL He is still in second.
Yep...AGAIN! :)
This is an online poll I believe, so it is not dependent on land lines, it is also the most inaccurate imo because the polling firms have yet to perfect the type of online poll that Reuters is trying to implement. I’m not being a hater, but this poll comes in the wake of the datatbase controversy and Trump mocking a reporter for their disability, one has to wonder if his Teflon is starting to thin.
Boy, Trump sure is gleeful whenever he can gloat about an opponent's low polling numbers.
Seriously!, you really believe that “Civil rights are highly overrated.” I don’t know about you but the rights to: Free Speech, Freedom of Religion, and Freedom of Association which are all civil rights are things I am willing to fight and even die for.
I care for Americans’ rights, which are being eroded with the invasion from the south, and now the middle east.
If you want to join the ACLU and expect a candidate to be politically correct, I can recommend a website that suits you better.
The polls I care about will start in February, at the polling places.
There’s really nothing to worry about. It does sound bogus that anyone would let Trump’s statement after Paris dissuade them from voting for him, and definitely not about the NYT reporter, I doubt if many people even paid any attention to that. Besides, most of Trump’s appeal comes from his willingness to take on the media and its pushing of PC.
Still in second dude and collapsing, two weeks ago The Donald was at 42% in this same poll and he bled out to 31%. Polls flucuate and this poll will probably look very different come February.
Let me ask you this question:
If Trump knew this reporter, then he would know that he is handicapped....Trump wouldn’t make fun of people like that, he’s not built that way...so considering that Trump didn’t know him, never heard of him, he didn’t know the guy was handicapped...
Just the government controlled media trying to knock Trump out...and it isn’t going to work, they have lied to us to long and we don’t believe a thing they say on anything...
That’s why you wont find many of the usual loudmouth former Scott Walker supporters making too much hay over this.
30% to 11% for second place is still a win. LOL!
I wonder if Hillary’s numbers also went down...yea, right.
