What started as a lighthearted tradition meant to build camaraderie, transformed into chaos on Aug. 20 when the United States Military Academy at West Point’s annual pillow fight turned bloody, leaving 30 freshmen injured, investigators said Wednesday.
Nicknamed “plebes,†first-year students are responsible for organizing the pillow fight, held almost every year since 2001.

Every time I muster up some sympathy for Army in their inability to beat Navy they pull a stupid nanny state stunt like this, thus freeing me to root for Navy to stomp them again as they likely will.
A bunch of women ruled out future pillow fights.

That “pillow fights” have become a tradition, or that said pillow fights are now deemed too dangerous to continue.
According to the report, some cadets put their hard helmets into the pillow cases. So, these weren’t just pillows they were hitting other cadets with.

First of all, the tradition of a “pillow fight” at a US service academy is just flat embarrassing. Second, the cadets were filling the pillows with hard objects. Thinks of being beaten with a bag of nickels. Dangerous and not a lot of fun. Third, this isn’t exactly something Patton and Eisenhower were doing. It’s a tradition dating back to only 2001.
The powers that be are basically saying they won’t sanction a “tradition” that involves violent assault. I have no problem with that. “Constitutional rebellion pending?” Really? You enjoy making mountains out of molehills?
Wasn’t the problem this year the fact that many of them were swinging other items instead of or in addition to pillows in their pillowcases?
Quite honestly, I don’t give a crap. There’s your a #ing molehill.

I’d hate to see what would happen in a snowball fight!
My family doctor’s brother invented (developed?) the “My Pillow”. I don’t know how good they are but they’re very expensive and made the developer rich.
