Johnny Cash - Thanksgiving Prayer
We've come to the time in the season When family and friends gather near To offer a prayer of Thanksgiving For blessings we've known through the year To join hands and thank the creator And now when Thanksgiving is due This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you
I'm grateful for the laughter of children The sun and the wind and the rain The color of blue in your sweet eyes The sight of a high ball and train The moon rise over a prairie Old love that you've made new This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you
And when the time comes to be going It won't be in sorrow and tear I'll kiss you goodbye and I'll go on my way Grateful for all of the years I thank for all that you gave me For teaching me what love can do Thanksgiving day for the rest of my life I'm thanking the Lord He made you Thanksgiving day for the rest of my life I'm thanking the Lord He made you

Mary Chapin Carpenter - Thanksgiving Song
Grateful for each hand we hold Gathered round this table. From far and near we travel home, Blessed that we are able.
Grateful for this sheltered place With light in every window, Saying "welcome, welcome, share this feast Come in away from sorrow."
Father, mother, daughter, son, Neighbor, friend and friendless; All together everyone in the gift of loving-kindness.
Grateful for what's understood, And all that is forgiven; We try so hard to be good, To lead a life worth living.
Father, mother, daughter, son, Neighbor, friend, and friendless; All together everyone, let grateful days be endless.
Grateful for each hand we hold Gathered round this table.
Please remember that The Canteen is here to support and entertain our troops and veterans and their families, and is family friendly.

Thanks so much for filling in Kathy for Thanksgiving. We had a gravy boatload of Family here and laughed a lot.Our 4 year old Grandson lead us in the Blessing of the food prayer. He also went around to all the adults and asked them what they were thankful for, when they answered he would go awwww :)He started with me but I told him he owed me an apology for being bad earlier. He just looked at me and said”Your Last”So hard not to laugh. We all had our mouths covered.

Hi Kathy,
Glad you enjoyed it : )
We were so blessed to be invited to our neighbors home for Thanksgiving. The mother cooked a 100% organic Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was super delicious. I asked to be adopted. : )

I ducked out early while Mrs.I and daughter stayed well into last evening at our niece’s Thanksgiving get-together, but both accosted me this morning to see if there had been a name-that-tune Canteen last night and if I had contributed anything to the project - glad to hear the tunes were welcome - we all hope you and yours had a good holiday.......
