I do not agree with comment that USA is eating Putin’s lunch. Not sure where that came from. But USA aligning with Kurds and NOT the “rebels” going after Assad is the better option. For now Putin is doing our work, so we are in common cause temporarily. This tactic by the way is not Obama’s preferred course. I think he bowed to pressure from Pentagon and world opinion.
What does the Indonesian care if Russians and Americans kill each other?
On the Eastern front we have U.S. veterans volunteering to fight against ISIS.

You both are confusing me. The Kurds are the good guys, you know, YPG/YPJ and Peshmerga?
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday Moscow was helping the fight against Islamist insurgents in Iraq with the consent of the Baghdad government.
“It is necessary to support the cooperation between the Iraqi government and the Iraqi Kurdistan in the fight against terrorism, but we are doing it with the consent of the government,” he said.

eating Putins lunch, I seriously hope you are joking or being sarc.
What could go wrong?
More likely the U.S. troops are there to keep the Turks from going after the Kurds for being Kurdish of the Russians from going after the Kurds for being rebels against Assad.
If Obama has anything to do with the Kurds it will be an operation to ensure they are ineffective against ISIS.
My guess is they will try to ferret out info about Kurdish locations and pass that info to Erdogan for missile strikes.
US seems to be on both sides. How can this fail?
As if the Kurds need US training to deal with IS
We sat by for the past 3 years while IS and Turkey both attacked the Kurds
Btw, Raqqa is turning to rubble under heavy Russian air attacks and when the time is right the IRGC and Syrian army will retake whatever is still standing ... Sending 50 advisors makes us look like fools and exposes US servicemen to extreme risks in a war where we have no legal standing and they have no protections of their status
