During the November 25 airing of Fox News’ Special Report, French Ambassador to the United States Gerard Araud countered Donald Trump’s emphasis on the importance of an armed citizenry by claiming that armed citizens succeed in defending themselves “only in the movies.â€
Araud was specifically reacting to a tweet sent after the January 7 Charlie Hebdo attacks in which Trump wrote, “Isn’t it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?†Talking Points Memo reported that Araud responded to the tweet by calling Trump a “vulture,†then deleted the tweet after attacking Trump.

You’re much more charitable than we are. If he was in our neighborhood and the jihadis attacked I’d shoot him first.

Because I can’t trust him to be behind me. He might try to hurt me so I don’t hurt his precious peaceful jihadis.

I’ve never liked crowds and am acutely aware of how helpless they make an individual. Its even worse inside a contained space. In my youth I used to go to clubs like this but always found a spot by the wall within a few steps of an emergency exit. Emergency exits usually can’t be opened from the outside so there are no surprises there.
Situational awareness.
