Donald Trump under fire for mocking disabled reporter

Republican presidential contender Donald Trump has been criticised for mocking a disabled New York Times reporter.

Mr Trump performed an impression of Serge Kovaleski, who suffers from a congenital joint condition, at a rally.

He has used a 2001 article by Mr Kovaleski to back up widely disputed claims that "thousands" of Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the 9/11 attacks.

The New York Times called Mr Trump's actions "outrageous".

I would normally say that Trump is making a mistake defending this. It is true. There was film and it was on TV at the time. I saw it and it was said in the film that it was in Jersey City and Paterson. By defending he would seem to be making the error that Republicans always make and that is to defend against leftist charges and thereby validate them and make the charges the whole focus of the campaign. With Trump, I don’t know. He will probably just get more fans with it.

Yes, really. I made my own transcript from the original video days ago. Trump very clearly was making a comparison between the thousands of people who tailgate at an Ohio State football game versus anyone who would care to claim the Muslim tailgate parties were comprised of just two people. The press is taking that comparison and twisting the words and phrases to mean something completely different than what Trump actually said.

How would Trump know what the reporter looked like? He’s an obscure ink-stained wretch. Trump was doing his usual stand-up routine imitating a very nervous fellow who just found out he agrees with Trump.

Yes. When I said gentlemen, I was thinking of President Reagan. Politicians with his level of sophistication have disappeared over subsequent generations. Just another sign of the times I guess.

"Why doesn’t trump just stop with the mocking and move on in a more appropriate manner. Like a gentleman, for example."

Exactly. My mother ALWAYS voted for the most conservative candidate, But Trump has absolutely no chance to get her vote. "He has no clue what a gentleman is, and he is not welcome at my table."

The GOPe has already determined the nomination. That is why Bush is still in the “running.” If he drops out then it would be entirely too over the top to go ahead and nominate him. They could, if they insisted, though. If he becomes entirely too embarrassing to the GOPe then perhaps they will replace him with Rubio of Kasich if the Bush family agrees to the substitution.

So which is it?...........

If you're looking for someone to back up what Trump, or anyone else says, then I wouldn't consider Carson the gold standard of facts.

Hey, JR, when I watched Trump speaking of this reporter the only thing that came to mind that the reporter was squishy and not standing by his story. There wasn’t a hint of any disability, which ONLY came to light by the complaining, whining New York Slimes itself, coming to its own, false conclusion. Don’t buy their nonsense and don’t let your love for Teddy color your judgment.

Where was the BBC when Barack Hussein Mohammed mocked the Special Olympics on late night TV?

>>Ronald Reagan was a gentleman who by the time he ran fro the presidency had a history of arguing on behalf of liberty and the constitution.

Different times. The Democrats were gentlemanly then too. Too many FReepers still can’t see that times have changed. It isn’t 35 years ago anymore!!

Alinsky rules are in effect today. You want us to be like the Redcoats marching in formation while the colonists run through the woods taking potshots.

They aren’t prepared for us to fight them using their own tactics... and we still have facts and the truth on our side! Trump is the only Republican who is willing to pull a knife at a fistfight.

Winning is everything. Feeling good about losing well is for LOSERS. Here’s your Participation Trophy and a pat on the head.

And let me guess, that video that I pointed the link to was a complete fabrication of the evil media and was made up just to make Trump look bad. In fact Trump was probably not even in Alabama that day. He was serving meals at homeless shelter on Fargo.

It is consistent with liberal insistence that any disagreement with a liberal is based entirely on race or a disability or on bias against women or whatever. It is not possible that disagreement with liberal fantasy is fact and substance because for a liberal there is no such thing as fact or substance, only emotion and compassion. Facts are evil things made up by fascists to offend minorities.

8 years of being “offended” every day might remind these metrosexual PC pussies what a real man is like.

At the very least they will get a feel for what life in the Obamanation has been like for us.
