Rubio calls to 'defend Turkey' against Putin
The Hill ^ | Nov 24 2015 | The Hill

Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian jet fighter is a “critical moment” for the U.S. and its allies to stand up to Moscow, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said Tuesday.

Hours after the Kremlin condemned Turkey’s decision to shoot down the warplane for entering its airspace, Rubio warned against letting Russia get the upper hand.

“It's important for us to be very clear that we will respond and defend Turkey if they come under assault from the Russians. Otherwise the entire NATO alliance comes into question,” Rubio, who is running for president, said on Fox News.

They were not ours....to begin with, and I'm not going to take that report about shooting the ejected crew as the truth until I see it verified. The British(fog of war and all that) report was just a cloned copy..

The ground action however was not done by the Turkish government, it was done by the Turkmen who have had the crap bombed out of them and their villages seized. They are allies of the US coalition and of Turkey.

What's going on here is a bit more complicated then you make it.

The war was against communism

In regard to the cold war, communism had little to do with our relationship with Russia.

The cold war, ie; a continuation of proxy conflicts throughout the globe with Russia supplying one side and we supplying the other has continued unabated, with the exception of a short pause.

Turkey put boots on the ground in Iraq to fight the Kurds while we were still there.

I’ m proud to say I never liked him or trusted him. Not even back when most conservatives, freepers included, thought he was our great minority hope.

My analysis is not flawed.

What is flawed is your understanding of my analysis.

Obama is not the source of America’s evil. He’s a symptom of it.

The corruption that is killing America does not start and stop with Obama, it runs through the entire federal government, many state governments, almost all institutions of education from bottom to top, the media, the culture, and through a great many of the citizens themselves who elect the government and run the institutions, and that includes people who vote for both parties, because they are both corrupt.

What is it that America is contributing to this world today?

Lies.

Global Warming, gay marriage, transgender rights, abortion, promotion of islam, moving of islamic terrorists into innocent communities, racism, fear, division...

We are doing NOTHING that is good. Nothing.

The Shining City on the Hill has become Mordor.

Would if I wasn’t tied to people here and if there was any place to go.

I’m pretty sure that the evil that has infected this country and this world is going to come to a head pretty soon.

Erdogan would be orgasmic if he caused the USA and Russia to nuke each other out of existence.

He declare himself Caliph or 13th mahdi immediately.

Before I shut down for the night.

while much of our domestic policies are all run out of the WH and Obama’s minions, our military and intelligence ops are handled by experts that remain from admin to admin, and it’s the same at State. While John Kerry sits in the seat and makes a few noises, the state department runs without him. He does lead in some efforts, as Clinton did at Benghazi, and screwed it up but overall the professionals handle it.

That is what I was referring to. Political leadership does not change everything. They can’t and it frustrates the hell out of them. The ship of state takes a long time to turn, however Obama is going into his eighth year.

Even electing a new president does not change everything right away, so if that’s what you expect, you may be disappointed.

America is generally a reflection of it’s people as a democratic republic. America’s people are the problem in my opinion. They have to be made to understand that mistakes have consequences.

I don’t know if this country will survive to make 300 years old. It was designed to, but the people have not taken their responsibilities seriously and have lost it to the professional politicians ...for the most part.

It’s going to be a rough road to survive. That much we agree on. what we don’t agree on is foreign policy, which is one of several responsibilities of government. It lies mostly with the executive branch, but Obama does not know shit about it and has made few changes from the Bush admin policies.

So I don’t think that what we are talking about here is all Obama....

These policies, NATO, Islamic terrorists, The Russian-US problems and Assad, have been around for several administrations. There is always new wrinkles to the same issues.

This is no exception.

Shooting the parachuting pilots is a war crime, but like with most things. It is not enforced.

Yeah you do, because turkey is a Nato member and we would be responsible for their defense if asked...

All you can do is hope we are not asked..

No doubt.

Putin is portraying himself as the foe of godless Marxists, who now rule all of Europe and North America.
