Chicago Bound Border Patrol Agent Arrested with 110 Pounds of Cocaine, Say Police

Arizona state police arrested a U.S. Border Patrol agent following a traffic stop where they found four suitcases with 50 bricks of cocaine. The agent said was traveling to Chicago where he was going to receive $50,000 for the trip.

Last week, Juan Pimentel went before U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce McDonald who formally charged him with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and ordered he be held without bond pending trial.

Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety arrested Pimentel last Thursday following a traffic stop for a minor violation on the interstate highway known as I-10, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

During the traffic stop, Pimentel said he was driving to Flagstaff Arizona and that he did not know who had rented the vehicle he was driving. When the trooper asked if he could search the vehicle, Pimentel identified as an agent, showed the trooper his badge and told him that he had a gun in his bag.

I’ll bet good money this is the reason “Juan” became an agent in the first place.

Remember, this is the one that got caught!!!

You never just get lucky and catch the ONE guy that is doing something that his job makes easier to do than most.

Donald Trump saying he’d bring back water boarding would be most helpful in this case.

It was a training exercise. He was just testing the locals to see if they were on their toes. They passed!

Third world countries have corrupt officials. Why does this man's arrest surprise anyone in America 2.0?

The area just south of Arizona is controlled by the Sinaloa Cartel which as reported by Breitbart Texas, has been identified by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as the Mexican drug cartel with the most power in Chicago. According to DEA reports, the Sinaloa Cartel has been able to flood Chicago's streets with a steady stream of heroin and crystal meth primarily as well as cocaine and marijuana.

Really? I guess they ought to know.

CONFIRMED: The DEA Struck A Deal With Mexico's Most Notorious Drug Cartel
businessinsider Jan. 13, 2014

An investigation by El Universal has found that between 2000 and 2012, the U.S. government had an agreement with Mexico's Sinaloa drug cartel that allowed the organisation to smuggle billions of dollars of drugs in exchange for information on rival cartels.

Sinaloa, led by Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, supplies 80% of the drugs entering the Chicago area and has a presence in cities across the U.S.

There have long been allegations that Guzman, considered the "world's most powerful drug trafficker," coordinates with American authorities.

Where there is demand there will be supply - it's Prohibition all over again (although more of the profiting criminals are foreign).

Which leads to the question: what policy failed, and what succeeded, in ending organized crime's profiting from the alcohol trade?

I thought it led to the question: Why are you so off topic and how could you so totally miss the point of my first post?

Why are you so off topic

My responding to your quote from the article is "off topic"? ROTFL!

and how could you so totally miss the point of my first post?

Here's my response to that point: Pro-drug-war "conservatives" who trumpet every drug seizure as proof that the drug war is being won, are thereby motivating the DEA to cut deals with one cartel to increase their ability to make seizures from other cartels.
