'Complete failure': French intelligence grapples with fallout of Paris attacks

French intelligence officials were not aware until days after this month's deadly terror attack on Paris that the suspected mastermind of the carnage had a female cousin living just north of the capital, according to a published report.

The Wall Street Journal reports that information provided by Moroccan intelligence tied Hasna Houlahcen to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, enabling authorities to launch the raid that killed the two relatives this past Wednesday in Saint-Denis.

However, that lapse and others has left France's security services with uncomfortable questions to answer as the country reels from a second deadly act of terror following the attacks on the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in January.

"No need to fool ourselves," a French government official told the newspaper. "What we have in front of us is a complete failure."

>Abaaoud had bragged in ISIS’ English-language magazine that he was able to slip in and out of Europe undetected.

That’s a whole lot of fail right there. Let rats run rampant and you wind up with the Plague like we have now.

Not sure how they expect to watch 8-10 million muslims within their borders, if you use the estimate that at least 10% are strongly radicalized. That’s nearly 1 million people who need to be watched very closely. How many police and intelligence staff does it take to follow just one radical? 10? 20? 40?

The result will be French society in an undeclared state of war. Armed soldiers and tanks on the street (as we see in Brussels) will be the norm. Civil liberties will be greatly curtailed for most French, to allow their statist, progressive elites to continue the great lie and hoax that the country can assimilate millions of regressive Muslims into their western society.

In defense of French Intelligence, when the political elites of Europe bring in millions of ISIS sympathizers, there is no way you can foil all their plots.

Terrorism happens when you have millions of subversive violent muslims on your hands.

Agree to a point, but there is no way intel can know about every single barbarian, nor the future wannabes. The only way to stop them is with new ROE with pig covered MOABs and/or tactical nukes while accepting collateral damage. The Islamists need to learn that paradise is no longer open. The moderate Muslims would also learn a lesson and shut down their hate/terrorist leaders in Mosques and Madrasses world-wide.

Of course none of the above will happen. It will eventually be up to American militias to make a point.

Over 100 Heads of State will be in Paris in a few weeks for a Climate Change conference. That should liven things up a bit. There will be plenty of ISIS targets and chances to make some big headlines.

Ridiculous in this day and age to accuse any pc restricted, second guessed, beaurocratically hand tied intelligence agency of having been a “ complete failure”

The onus of these attacks falls at the feet of the Regressive liberals and especially of our elected officials.

It wasn't a failure of military intel, but of brains in government.

Maybe a tactical suitcase device. That would be too bad.
