The federal government's much-anticipated Syrian refugee plan will limit those accepted into Canada to women, children and families only, CBC News has learned.
Sources tell CBC News that to deal with some ongoing concerns around security, unaccompanied men seeking asylum will not be part of the program.
The details of the plan will be announced Tuesday, but already Canadian officials have been working on the ground to process people
As many as 900 refugees a day are expected to arrive from Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. The vast majority of them will arrive in Toronto and Montreal.
Sources say most of the newcomers will initially be housed in military bases, which have been preparing for their arrival. Other kinds of housing will also be used, including hotels and abandoned hospitals.
Superb idea. Exactly the plan I suggested on a Freep post 5 or 6 weeks ago.
But sources also say the government will stay away from calling any of these temporary housing locations “camps” - perhaps to stay away from the notion that refugee camps are typically large-scale and temporary, often using tents.
Refugees will not be housed in tents in Canada.
A good idea, and better than taking single young men. But let’s not forget that the radical muslims have been known to strap their own children with explosives. And of course, the women have also been know to blow up on occasion as well.
I suspect there will be instant Muslim families and a wink and a nod by the Canadian immigration officials.
This needs to be done here. That would cut the number of “refugees” by 95%.
Key word is “families.” This is how they will sneak in. Remember they are encouraged to lie by allah. They will lie to the Canadians in a heart beat.
Wow, the Boy Trudeau is THIS much more on-the-ball than Obama? Even by Obama standards that’s shocking.
First, importing 25,000 neanderthals is a bad idea even if they are “families” and have a lower risk of direct terrorist action. These folks are no different than the tens of thousand Turkish “moderate muslims” who booed the minute of silence last week in a soccer game, all the while yelling allu akbar.
Second, the news reports confirm that the Canadian government has been screening an average of 100 refugees each day for the past 6 weeks. Even if you accept this as true, that’s a maximum of 4200 screened to date, with only 37 days remaining in the year. No way they can screen all 25,000 before the end of this year.
Third, the Liberals have a history of deception and distortion, similar to the US Democratic Party. You can’t trust anything they say.
Third,
Taking in Syrian women, children and families is still dangerous, as this will create future unassimilated populations...
...but this is several magnitudes less dangerous that the plan to let anyone in (essentially) unvetted.
If we are interested in addressing one of the irrational excuses that Obama has come up with, then we should follow the Canadian plan. Of course Obama will come up with a new reason to criticize a Canadian-style plan.
Wouldn't work. The door would be wide open for thousands of unaccompanied men to decide they were actually woman. At least for the few days to "cross over".
“Marriages of convenience” will skyrocket.
LOL! You’re correct. Transgender refujihadis. The government public servants would fall for it every time.
I believe if they are men of fighting age, we need to draft them into a military to go fight for themselves. Send them back. Either they defend themselves or they don’t. They live or die on their soil. We don’t want them here.
So expect a lot of Syrian men to start dressing in drag.
Keep them all in Montreal and Toronto, hotbeds of support for the boy wonder PM.
That will thin the herd of asylum seekers by at least 2/3 maybe more
Like the stoning scene in “ Life of Brian”
