some on the board predicted that cruz would start to surge at some point. They were right. Cruise or trump. I’ll take either one.

It must be worse for cBS since it’s a large 6.2% MOE. No doubt it does not go the other way against Trump. It’s more like 36% for Trump in Iowa.

I think it’s great how Americans are going to be able to select their nominee this time while the dumbass DemocRATS are stuck with Huma Weiner’s BFF, Hillary Rodham Clinton whether they like it or not.

Hmmmm?
Add up all the candidates under Rubio and you equal Trumps number. Top three are outsiders !
To: iowamark
Any improvement by Cruz is about as meaningful as Carson or Rubio. At the end of the day only Trump has shown ability to win and this year winner wins over martyr.

If it was anybody but Trump in the lead it would be Race over, line up behind the front runner and consolidate support. Would any other candidates and pacs line up to dethrone Bush or Rubio? No chance. Trump and Americans are onto something Yuge!

Since last month, Ted Cruz has gained ground — and Ben Carson has lost ground — among some key voting groups in Iowa: evangelicals, Tea Party supporters, those who are very conservative and older voters. And while Trump still leads among some of these groups, it's Cruz who is ahead among the very conservative, and Trump leads Cruz by just two points among evangelical voters. Evangelicals, Tea Partiers and the strongly conservative have no business voting for anyone but Cruz. He is by far the most conservative, most principled and most trustworthy candidate.

70% of the Iowa Republican vote is going to the anti-GOPe candidates.

I predict that Carson will continue to fade and Cruz will continue to surge. As the vote gets closer there will be fewer protest votes for Paul and Huckabee, most going to Cruz and the GOPe will split up just a few percentage of the remaining votes. After Iowa it will bed Cruz and Trump in position for the primaries. I also predict that it will get bloody on Free Republic as Trump’s early lead is threatened by Cruz.
