WASHINGTON -- Democratic Senate leaders are vowing to block the House bill that would stop Syrian refugees from entering the country until a strict, multi-agency vetting process is in place.
The bill passed the House by a 289-137 vote yesterday, with 47 Democrats voting in favor of the legislation -- including Bay State U.S. Reps. William B. Keating and Stephen F. Lynch, who said the additional screening by the chief National Intelligence Agency was a key point in leading to his support.
President Obama had vowed to veto it, but with a veto-proof majority vote, Democratic efforts to stop the bill now rest with the Senate.
"Don't worry. It won't get passed," vowed Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.
The bill would require the Department of Homeland Security, FBI and director of National Intelligence to certify that no one seeking asylum from Syria poses a national security threat. Though he broke with his party's leadership, Lynch said he believes having the multi-level screening procedures will actually aid the White House’s goal of taking in 10,000 Syrian refugees.
"I think the quality of the screening will be much better knowing somebody is going to check your work," Lynch told the Herald. "I think that’s human nature."

If voters remember......in a few weeks their will be another shiny penny. Heck a year ago we all were supposed to die from Ebola......not a peep today.
All it will take is one more "setback" involving refugees in Europe...

My fear is it will not be Europe. It is just a matter of time before they do something again here in the US.
This is why everyone needs to keep calling their governors and backing them up on not letting any refugees into their states. If Congress does not protect us we have to exert the 10th Amendment.
Personally I believe that prior to the election we are going to see an attack here in the US similar to the Paris attack. With a wide open border there must be hundreds if not thousands of jihads here in the US already.

The American electorate has about a month memory retention. Even after 9/11 most had pretty well put it out of their minds after three months.

And just imagine the blowback if there is another suicide bomber here. I think it is almost inevitable.
I think what is really going on is that the Democrats are desperate to create another “crisis” from which they will claim the need to save us.
That has been successful for them many times over. But this time, the real cause will be too closely associated with effect. After some of these “refugees” attack us and murder a bunch of people, the FIRST thing we ought to do is arrest Obama and a bunch of other Democrats and try them for treason. We can deal with the “refugees” more effectively if we isolate and “de-fang” their enablers first.

Harry Reid is more concerned about the welfare of Syrians than he is about the welfare and safety of American citizens. It’s time for this evil old man to retire.

I agree. And that will prevent further elections as we will be under martial law. This is the plan of those in power...in both parties and at the UN.
Is ANYONE THAT STUPID to believe that in over 500,000 that he has flown in so far that there are not a couple of hundred or more ISIS thugs in that mob??? IS ANYONE that stupid???? No, I firmly believe ISIS and other muzzie terrorist groups have infiltrated the nation. I believe that within the next few months we are going to see Paris happening here. Some may be a lone wolf or a couple of them together walking into a mall at maybe Christmas shopping time and firing away. Heck they are not checked that closely when they came in. Was probably easy to hide a few weapons among the luggage and some blocks of plastic explosives in their back packs.
No sir, I firmly believe we are going to see it here. It is going to happen. The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans no longer protect us. They fly to Mexico or some other Latin American country and simply walk across into the border states. I have read that even the Mexican cartels are helping them. Hey, money talks.
