Amid heightened fears over terrorism, an Orange County teacher has found herself in trouble after ordering her class to sing a song about Islam.
The teacher says she was trying to teach her seventh-grade class about the religion of Islam by using a catchy tune.
Using the melody of the song “This Is My Fight Song,†the teacher applied custom lyrics, such as:
“Like a sandstorm in the desert, sending camels into motion, like how a single faith can make a heart open, they might only have one god, but they can make an explosion.â€
The song was then presented to her students.
Parents and grandparents, such as Nichole Negron and Susan Negron, found out about the song and appeared before the Oceanview School Board on Tuesday night to address the issue.
“I believe that by singing this song, the children feel comfortable believing that maybe Allah is the only god, and maybe that they should start following him,†Susan argued. “And that I’m not OK with.â€
Negron says she wouldn’t have known that the middle-schoolers were singing the song had her grandson not accidentally brought it home.
Local parents aren’t the only ones speaking out.
Ojaala Ahmed with the Council for American Islamic Relations in Anaheim related the song to the recent terrorist attack in Paris.
“Especially with the recent attacks ISIS has been doing, knowing that this potentially Islamaphobic backlash might come about, what was the teacher’s intention,†Ahmed asked.
The school district released a statement of apology, and says it is looking into the matter.

Hundreds of irate parents are planning to attend the Walton County, Georgia, school board meeting Oct. 10 to convey their outrage over their children being taught the religious beliefs of Islam in middle-school social studies.
The outrage erupted over a quiz handed out to students asking them to answer questions related to the five pillars of Islam, the Quran as the holy book of Muslims, and the conversion prayer known as the shahada, which states, ...There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.â€
...MMost disturbing to Christian parents was the “correct†answer that the Muslim god Allah is the “same god†that is worshiped by Christians and Jews.

If I were a parent of any of these children I would be filled with righteous indignation concerning what has taken place over an extended period of time (it takes days, if not weeks for young children to learn a song with these kind of words) and would continue to put massive pressure, including legal recourse to bear against the teacher, the principal the school district and EVERYONE involved until this teacher is removed from teaching altogether. This teachers actions are unconcionable; a simple, unrepentant, half-hearted "apology" is utterly insufficient for a crime such as this, and yes it is a crime.
This would be equivalent to an American teacher teaching her children "catchy", hate filled anti-American Nazi, SS tunes or marching songs during the height of WWII! If this event had happened at that time I dare say the parents would have tarred and feathered her if they didn't string her up, or hand her over to the FBI as a traitor!

Muslims are not here to learn or adapt to our way of life...they are here to convert all to Islamic beliefs...period...Their Koran tells them it is their duty to do so....and they're all doing it.
They are getting away with this because our country has eliminated Christianity from our schools, governments and o also infilitrating our churches.........leaving a vacuum which Islam is filling....” The devil rushed in”.....
