Thousands of people on the national Terrorist Watch List are still legally allowed to buy guns - and have been doing just that, according to a new report.
The Government Accountability Office says that more than 2,000 suspected terrorists have managed to buy guns in the U.S. from 2004 to 2014.
That makes an overwhelming 91 percent of those on the list who were not blocked from purchasing a firearm.
So, how did that happen?
Gun rights are a "congressional situation," said Stewart Verdery, former Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, said on "The Real Story" today.
"There's nothing more micromanaged in the law than how people get their guns, who can be denied."
It's important to also remember that the watch list is a "huge number of people," Verdery said. Many are often added by mistake.
But the staggering success rate of these transactions does mean it "perhaps needs to be looked at," he added.
Watch more above.

After the events in Paris on 11/13, I will be adding
this to my posts for the next week. I'm certain our
turn is coming again soon. We stand united against
Islamic extremists.
Some music for reflection if the mood strikes you.

An honorable mention also goes out to Lassana Bathily , a Muslim immigrant from Mali.
Mr. Bathily sheltered customers at the Jewish Deli and helped police by providing info
on the terrorists, and providing the location of survivors in the deli.

So does DHS mail you a notification that you are on a terrorist watch list?
How would you know?
Every freeper is probably on the list by Obama’s definition.
Loose talk is a mistake IMO. We say some stuff here we think is justified, but don't think about how that will look to someone reading the thread.
I see some comments here at times that I wouldn't make. I don't think it makes the forum look good either.

Paris massacre in France is the beta test for reaction to socialist Hollande suspending their Constitution for three months, banning public protest gatherings, changing dual citizenship, etc.
The impending attack on the US will result in a much more permanent “fundamental transformation” of this country.
Good bye first, second, fourth and fifth ammendments.
Read or listen to prescient 2014 William Forstchen Day of Wrath.
Chillingly graphic, and realistic.

I agree.
I see FR as America’s Black box recorder, detailing how we went down.
It would be good to keep things here appropriately dignified.

BTW: Forstchen has another book. Covers looks fairly similar. Have you read it?
Just read it again last night.
There’s an old saying in the military....never give an order you know won’t be obeyed.
Let’s hope the administration has that much sense.
“Hollande called for quick action by the parliament on new legislation that would give the government more flexibility to conduct police raids without a warrant and place people under house arrest. He said he would seek court approval for broader surveillance powers. And he called for constitutional amendments that would give more weight to security measures relative to civil liberties.
The changes he is seeking would, among other things, extend the current state of emergency for three months and let the government strip the citizenship of French natives who are convicted of terrorism and hold a second passport.”
Boston Globe 11/17/2015
No, I haven’t read his latest sequel to One Second After, One Year After, that was released on September 15, 2015.
IMHO he’s a very good writer.
BTW: the Day of Wrath book is Excellent as a audiobook.
Talented narrator does it complete justice.
It is books captivating story, but Not an entertaining book
If nothing else, the Obama Administration would find a way to arm them.

Gee.. let’s see...
The government has a “watch list”.
People on the “watch list” can buy guns.
Is the government cross-checking those two things?
Apparently not. That would be racist, or something.
Go Obama!
Good thing the Feds mandated all those background checks.
Bingo. Why do you think Hussein wants to let all of the Syrians in?
