Governor: Hawaii would welcome Syrian refugees

Hawaii Gov. David Ige says the state would welcome refugees from Syria with aloha.

Ige said in a statement Monday that Hawaii and the U.S. have a long history of welcoming refugees affected by war and oppression.

Ige spokeswoman Jodi Leong says it's too early to speculate on how many may come to Hawaii as the governor hasn't been contacted by President Barack Obama or his administration.

The governor says "Hawaii is the Aloha State, known for its tradition of welcoming all people with tolerance and mutual respect."

Ige says safety is his first priority. He says the U.S. accepts refugees only after conducting the highest level of screening and security checks.

Ige says Hawaii would work with the federal government to ensure the state has the resources to help refugees.

Hawaii is one of only seven states whose governors have said they would accept Syrian refugees following the terror attacks in Paris on Nov. 13.

Great idea -— send them all there!!! That way Obama can enjoy their company after he leaves the White House.

There are lots of unarmed Infidels on Oahu and they have no place to run.

It will make a perfect ISIS hunting ground...

Camp them on Kahoolawe.

Too bad we don't use it as a bombing range anymore.

Apparently Hawaiian rape numbers are far too low for the Governor.

It will give 5-0 something else to do after they get rid of all the other terrorists and international mobsters in the islands.

Aren’t the Democrats worried they might tip the island
over if they load it down with too many “immigrants”?

Hawaii has very high real estate prices, especially on Oahu.
They complain about overcrowding as well as homelessness.

You can’t say that AND then say we’ll take in and house thousands of refugees.

Pretty much what you’d expect from Hawaii Democrats once they learned that the islands wouldn’t actually capsize due to overpopulation ...

Daniel Inouye would respond to his critics with,

“Don’t you dare criticize me! I was in an internment camp! Racist!”
