Influential Iowa Rep. Steve King has officially endorsed Ted Cruz for president, giving the GOP Texas senator a boost ahead of Februaryâs Iowa caucuses.
âCruz has a proven record of standing up to both Democrats and Republicans to put the American people first, and I believe he is the only one who can unite conservatives around his campaign and build the organization needed to beat Hillary Clinton,â King said in a statement put out by the Cruz campaign.
âWith Ted Cruz, conservatives no longer have to accept a Republican nominee who doesnât truly share our values.â
King is a key figure in Iowa conservative circles, hosting the annual âRally for Religious Libertyâ in Des Moines that serves as a cattle call for presidential hopefuls. The endorsement isnât entirely surprising considering Kingâs family ties â his son works for a super-PAC that backs Cruz.
King is also known for a hardline stance on immigration and drew criticism in 2013 for saying that many immigrants have "calves the size of cantaloupes because theyâre hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.â
The longtime Iowa congressman specifically praised Cruz's foreign policy chops as candidates continue to lay out their foreign policy platforms in light of last week's terror attacks in France.
"He understands that we need to defeat Islamic jihad, the ideology of it, not just militarily, but the culture of it," King said in a video released by the campaign.
"I'm all the way in supporting Ted Cruz for president." Cruz's stock in Iowa has improved over the past few months and he currently sits at fourth place, just behind Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) with 12 percent, according to a RealClearPolitics average
That’s what the most recent polls show...
>>”Those polls are 2 weeks old, and show carson over clinton +4! “
That’s the most recent polls and they show Trump losing to Clinton.
That was my post, FRiend.
>>>If you trust those..
Same pollsters, same polls The Donald touts..
>>>you’re an idiot.
But you digress.

C'mon, we both know polls are intended to direct rather than inform. And if anybody believes ben could EVER beat hillary they belong in the loony ben.
Well, I’d agree with you on polls, but then, the Donald is sooooo invested in them, it’s like his whole schtick, y’know?
Really?
During the Fox News Debate last month, Megyn Kelly asked Ted Cruz if he would deport the 12 million illegal immigrants in the USA.
Cruz refused to answer!
Cruz said the question was a distraction from more important immigration issues.
In 2013, Cruz stated that he supported “work permits” for illegal aliens (but no path to citizenship).
Cruz's just released “new” immigration policy does not mandate universal E-Verify.
Cruz's “new” policy does not call for a reduction in LEGAL immigration, which means that Cruz will probably lose Texas if he runs for president in 2020.
Thank you for your sympathy but I do get it.
201t? Is that like a 501(c)? Or the IoT? A 401(k)?
I could go on, but the possibilities are endless! *grin*
Or is that short for an Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator?
Just wondering...
He used to be one of the most passionate supporters of strict enforcement of the immigration laws.
Not any more.
I think he voted for Paul “Mr. Amnesty” Ryan for House Speaker, too.

Thanks. Whenever the Alzheimers posters start up about some fart, I get suspicious...
Cruz is for amnesty:
KING: If you’re thinking about kicking doors down and deporting people, I know that’s not been mentioned or discussed between myself and Ted Cruz. That’s not the way - well, maybe it’s the way for another candidate, but it’s not the way Ted Cruz envisions this, and it’s not the way I envision it.
Anyone who supports Cruz gets smeared by Trump supporters as a RINO. Somehow an ersatz newbie conservative, like Trump, is supposed to be our champion and a brilliant, lifelong, fully dedicated conservative like Cruz to be ignored for a vulgar mountebank like Trump.
.
Don’t know.
If he is, endorsing Cruz, who has roundly denounced ethanol, would not make any sense.
.
Steve King generally supports the Renewable Fuels Standard. Many issues, for better or worse, are decided for other-than-ideological reasons. Until there is some kind of state or regional rebellion against the Federal government, practical life goes on.
If he is, endorsing Cruz, who has roundly denounced ethanol, would not make any sense.
Congress has racked up nearly $17 trillion in national debt, in part due to unnecessary taxpayer spending on mature industries such as corn ethanol.
This spending habit is enabled by lawmakers who refuse to acknowledge the plethora of subsidies showered upon these industries. For instance, at a policy forum last week, Representative Steve King (R-IA) asserted, âthere is no subsidy for corn-based ethanol.â
Rep. King was no doubt attempting to placate the corn ethanol lobby and the many corn growers in his northwest Iowa district, but his statement deserves to be set straight.
In other words, king is just another duplicitous lying sack of crp, a perfect example of what's wrong with this country.
.
But in this case he is doing the highest and best good by endorsing the only qualified candidate in the race.
We need for every state to go to Cruz, to slam the door in the face of the GOPe thugs.
