France will be grieving for a long time after Friday's bloodshed. The death toll is still rising, the current number a staggering 132. French President Francois Hollande addressed the tragedy before the French Parliament on Monday, making it clear his nation is not dealing with any ordinary enemy.
"France is at war," says Hollande. "We are not in a war with a civilization, because these people are not one."
Hollande said France will be increasing its military efforts to "destroy" the evil terror organization.
France is sending an aircraft carrier to the Middle East, according to Hollande, and will be "tripling its forces" in the region to combat ISIS.
"Their crime, far from shaking the resolve of France, reinforces our determination to destroy them," said Hollande.
Over the weekend, France began launching airstrikes on key ISIS strongholds. Hollande will be meeting with Presidents Obama and Putin to discuss a more united effort against the terrorists.
The French leader also announced he will be introducing a bill to expand France's state of emergency for three months.
Following Hollande's speech, the entire assembly sang the French national anthem.
“Hollande said France will be increasing its military efforts to “destroy” the evil terror organization.”
First step: stop admitting them into your country. Kick out those with ties to ISIS.
Did you even read the article?
Zero times three is still zero.
Frère Jacques, frère Jacques,
Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous?
Sonnez les matines! Sonnez les matines!
Ding, dang, dong. Ding, dang, dong.
At least France has some leadership that is not pandering to the Iranians. Sure would be nice if the USA has some pro-Western, anti-Islamic terrorist leadership — January of 2017 cannot come fast enough.
And what about that arrogant pos occupant who wants to let them get in our country no questions asked?
Exactly, but some in here are blind
Agreed! Perhaps after the attacks in France the opposition in the US to Syrian “refugees” will grow.
“First step: stop admitting them into your country. Kick out those with ties to ISIS.”
AMEN. Been yelling that at the tv all weekend.
I am going to give for now Hollande the benefit of the doubt, in that he’s had his “come to Jesus” moment and his eyes have been opened. I wish him success.
I fear they are already here my friend.
reminds me of the scene in Casablanca.
I wish the best of luck to France in putting the hurt on ISIS.
But “French Military” doesn’t exactly inspire confidence as to effectiveness or numbers. Would that we had a substantial ally.
better to work with Putin than Obama. Obama just increased Arms shipment to ISIS
So they are going to fight the army that has already invaded where the army is not?
