GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump returned to the great state of Texas on Saturday during his quest to âMake America Great Again.â As this video shows, he spoke for over an hour, which is his new plan of action. His campaign has transformed into a series of long-winded monologues that feel like heâs trying to convince himself to stay in the race.
Perhaps Trump has realized that heâd take a significant pay cut as president, which isnât as much of a joke as reality. To Trump, money is the ultimate motivator, and (as he enjoys reminding us) heâs poured a lot of his own cash into this campaign. During this speech in Beaumont, Trump made his thoughts on the Paris terrorist attacks known. He believes that Franceâs strong gun control laws did nothing to deter the attackers, and he says that armed civilians could have helped diffuse the situation:
âWhen you look at Paris, toughest gun laws in the world, nobody had guns but the bad guys. Nobody had guns. And they were just shooting them one by one, and then they broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists. And I will tell you what â you can say what you want, if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry, it would have been a much, much different situation.â
This isnât the only occasion Trump has used a tragedy to further his own agenda, and it certainly isnât the first time he criticized gun control in France. Following the January Charlie Hebdo attacks, Trump tweeted, âIsnât it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?â
Donald J. Trump â â@realDonaldTrump Isnât it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?

He wouldn’t have gun free zones....killing zones. So, yes, Trump is RIGHT!
He’s the only one who’s been right.
He is calling the PC stuff bullshit — just like he should — and he’s the only one who has been doing it.
He hasn’t shifted with the wind; he has called attention to the danger. He just might be the Winston Churchill of our time.
see #21
WaPo also carried it, but they are liberals AND they make you excerpt their articles.
The headline was a good one, the content was accurate, so better that direction.
I try to avoid WaPo whenever I can.
He and Cruz are the men in the group.
The others are all groupies.
LOL!
I agree
I can’t wait for my TRUMP lawn signs!
Better yet if the country closed its doors to muslim immigrants.
Trump creates the impression that he will be a CAN DO President. That is why he has lead all along...
i trust him to be able to change from CAN to WILL more than anyone else not named Cruz...
Hmmmm, let me see.....An Islamo Terrordooshbbag is coming at me firing off rounds in all directions.
Would I rather be sensibly unarmed and “cower in place”
OR
Would I rather have my Sig P229 holstered under my shirt, ready to send him off to see his 72 prepubescent girlfriends.
Gonna have to think about that.
With a gun, I have a fighting chance. And if it’s my favorite pistol, they’re hit multiple times, and probably a kill on the first shot. I don’t know why the Glock 9mm works so well for me, but it does.
I’m putting mine at this stop sign leading into town. They’ve gotta stop, they’ve gotta look, and they’ll probably read if they don’t make those stupid small print signs.
Agreed. Trump is bashed for not being a doctrinaire ideologue, which is true. What he is, is realistic, practical and diligent. I’ll take that over having the best thesis on the ramifications of adolescents in the workplace and their effect on labor and tax issues ANY DAY, ALL DAY.
Flexibility is a four letter word
“The point might be proven in America.”
It already has been proven in Garland, Texas.
Texans 2, Goatboys 0

And even beyond “Can do”, I think Trump will be a “WILL DO” president and keep his promises.
re: He just might be the Winston Churchill of our time.
Could be. But he also could be the Benito Mussolini of our time.
As for other clap trap you referenced in your reply.
“He wouldn’t have gun free zones....killing zones”
No private property in your world?
Cities, counties and states must bow to a federal master?
Damn that sounds like Italy in 1936. Hmm.
He and Cruz are the men in the group.
The others are all groupies.
......................................................
None of the others are men, except maybe Horseface who thinks she is.
Trump got creamed over the weekend because of his comments on armed citizens. The crazy libs overseas were complaining of his idiotic statements on gun ownership.
I fear for western civilization with so many stupid PC people all around us. Common sense has totally passed them by.
