OK, it's one poll. I have no idea how valid, or really who "Gravis Marketing" is - though I've heard of them before.

Still fun and a little interesting. And not out of line with national polls...except as Ben Carson is concerned.

Actually, I went to the Ted Cruz rally for Religious Liberty at BJU in Greenville yesterday. I would love to see Cruz win. I just don’t think he can.

I have never seen such a wave of stupidity in my entire life. Don't you even listen to what Trump says?

I'm going to give you a nice excerpt from the Fox Business Debate transcript, so that there is absolutely no way you can accuse me of taking this out of context. Read it carefully in his own words:

BARTIROMO: Mr. Trump, a federal appeals court just dealt a blow to the Obama administration's plan to prevent the deportation of 5 million people living in this country illegally. The White House is appealing to the Supreme Court.

At the heart of this issue is the effect that illegal immigrants are having on our economy, what will you do about it?

TRUMP: I was so happy yesterday when I saw that decision come down. That was an unbelievable decision.

(APPLAUSE)

And we don't have enough of those decisions coming down. He of the executive order, because nobody wants to listen to him, including the Democrats, so he just goes around signing executive orders. That was a great day. And, frankly, we have to stop illegal immigration. It's hurting us economically. It's hurting us from every standpoint. It's causing tremendous difficulty with respect to drugs and what that does to many of our inner cities in particular.

TRUMP: You are going to have to bring people -- you are going to have to send people out. Look, we're a country...

TRUMP: Maria, we're a country of laws. We either have a country or we don't have a country. We are a country of laws. Going to have to go out and they will come back but they are going to have to go out and hopefully they get back.

But we have no choice if we're going to run our country properly and if we're going to be a country.

There you have it in his own words. Trump says illegal immigration is hurting us economically. He will build a big beautiful wall with a big beautiful door, and let them back in. He says he wants them back. Having the same people, future Democrats all, that were hurting us economically come back will make it all wonderful once they're legal?

I've been saying for months that Trump's plan IS a boomerang amnesty just like what Kay Bailey Hutchison proposed in 2007. That plan was rejected as a closet amnesty back then, but FReepers, of all conservatives, are now so desperate they go blind, because Trump knows how to sell a complete fantasy.

I play to people's fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That's why a little hyperbole never hurts. Have you noticed that nationally RealClear Politics consistently shows Trump in a dead heat with Carson? I do not get it. They seek out the worst polls for Trump they can find. I was very surprised to see this poll at RealClear.

The Manchester Union Leader is doing everything it can to kneecap Trump. It used to be a conservative newspaper; now, with McQuaid running the paper, it is a GOP-e rag.

He’s stating that he’s not going to deny citizenship to illegals if they come back through the normal process assuming they are legally allowed to come back. Cruz supports that exact same position. Except he isn’t demanding they leave first.

First, it will NOT be a "normal process," but an expedited one. Second, he says he wants THESE future Democrats to come back as legal immigrants. To support him with that is Republican demographic suicide.

Cruz supports that exact same position.

No. Cruz says he will enforce the law. He also says he wishes to curtail legal immigration pursuant to the unemployment rate which is not in the Donald's published plan. Cruz' plan means they don't come back, Americans get those jobs, and conservatives gain political strength.

I prefer the latter outcome.
