Perhaps it's a small town and there aren't big arenas.Fort Dodge doesn't offer any large venues, and once October is in the rearview mirror, you don't schedule anything outdoors unless you want people to contract pneumonia. Since FD has been solidly Democrat since 1860, I was a bit surprised DT went there, but he's certainly not afraid to go into the belly of the beast.

Thank you for the mention and information.
No, I guess he isn’t afraid to go just about anywhere.

"I had an Army buddy in Nam from there. He wasnât a liberal and he told me that that part of Mass. was more conservative than the rest of the state."That is correct, and I read here recently that were liberal and just voted in a bunch of R's. I hope a Mass Freeper can update us on this.
I suspect he is going their because it is and it is a blue collar almost Blue Dog Democrat City IMHO. Drove through it about 2 months ago, it still looks that way and it had been probably 20 year since I have driven through it ans noticed...

Worcester is the 2nd largest city in New England and yes, the whole area is more conservative.

There are a lot more conservatives in MA than people realize. This is a primary race at this point and Trump is smart enough to realize MA delegates count the same as delegates from a more conservative state. My wife and I are professionals, but we are prety hard core conservatives, despite both being born and raised in MA. Sure, we have plenty of liberals and legacy democrats in the family too. We went to a Cruz rally in MA in June and were shocked by the turn out, that early, and that was before Trump entered the race. Outside of 495, outside of the cities and Amherst, it is fairly conservative. People who work hard and own their own home tend to be conservative IMO. If trump is killing it in NH, he will kill it in MA primary too. Now the general is another story, but this could be an election like 84, though, I fear the demographic shifts make that unlikely. Trump is spot on in attacking the dishonest media. Many people are just so poorly informed due to their sources of information and public school indoctrination. I like to think that if the media was on average more honest, liberal progressives would get crushed, even here. I like Ted, but I think Trump can win and today's Trump is not wishy washy on 2nd amendment, border security & illegal immigration, common core, America first, etc. Trump/Cruz would be my preferred ticket at this point.

Maybe Richard G. Lugar if he still lived in IN could come out and lead a protest.

I met a tour bus driver in Boston in 2014 with views like you. She hates liberals and rails against being outvoted forever.

Doing a MA Freeper ping here in case folks don’t know about the event and might want to be there.
As always, if anyone wishes to be removed from my ping list just let me know through FreepMail. Thanks!

I was a MA lib for the 1st 30 years of my life.
Then came the insanity of the 60s.
I converted-—and never went back.
I had lunch with 3 old friends last week, one of them a lib,the rest of us conservative. 75% isn’t bad. :-)
