After a week in which he hosted Saturday Night Live and stood center-stage at a Republican debate, Donald Trump is surging among Republicans likely to cast votes in the partyâs presidential primary.
According to the five-day rolling Reuters/Ipsos presidential poll, Trump has leapt some 17 percentage points among likely Republican voters since Nov. 6, when he was essentially tied with Ben Carson at about 25 percent. Trump now captures 42 percent of those voters while Carson has fallen off slightly.

See that? That is exactly why I don't tire myself out debating with TDSers and skeptics. Trump's absolute dominance of this race has been all too apparent for a long time now.
He's been on top almost from the day he announced, and has only gained ground and strength over the intervening months. Once it became obvious that literally nothing could kill him, it was a foregone conclusion that he'd likely become the nominee.
In my view, the whole dog and pony show of the primary is a huge waste of time. The country has already chosen him as the next President.
Agreed.
Cruz was my first choice when the primary season began. I donated money to his campaign, and before that, I voted for him in his Senate race.
That changed when Donald began speaking with such a bold voice to the American people. He was unwavering, unapologetic, and right on target with his plans for what our nation must do at this time. He won me over.
I now believe that he's the only candidate who will go to Washington and do what he says he'll do. He's not owned or beholden to the special interests or the party poobahs. He's his own man, and has a lifelong track record as a successful executive who wins far more than he loses. That's exactly what we need in the Oval Office over the next eight years.
Yup.
Of all the candidates, I trust Trump the most, to effectively deal with our enemies and the threats they pose to us. In fact, I trust him FAR more than any of the other candidates, to do so.
The terrorist attacks in Paris have probably even pushed some voters into his camp who were supporting other (weaker) candidates.
I'm a yuge Trump supporter, and I agree with you, but I feel he stepped over the line the other night due to extreme exhaustion. I've read that he only slept for an hour the night before. Remember it was the night of the last debate.
As soon as I found that out, it explained everything to me. I've behaved exactly like that when I've been sleep deprived. Makes your brain spooky.
Have you noticed that RealClear Politics consistently shows Trump in a dead heat with Carson? I don’t get it. They seek out the worst polls for Trump they can find.
The keep using the bogus, discredited CBS/WSJ outliner poll which shows Carson up by 7 points. Take that one away and it’s not close.
Probably going to cause the vapors, and some loud bowel gas resulting in diarrhea for some.
I believe the best thing that can happen for all of us is to keep Trump and Cruz in this race until the last possible moment.
These two are stil not at all ready to pounce on each other even though the media has tried to push them into it. The other day Trump said Cruz was fantastic. I mean, that is not what you would say if you were ready to rumble.
I believe both guys must think the establishment intend a brokered convention. They must want a clear point established that they are what the voters intended. Remember, we are still about a year out. Prop them both up and we have a chance.
Trump is like a bowling ball and he is roaring down the lane at the pinhead GOPE candidates.
I created this meme, and Jindal used it in the last debates lol.
A few weeks? Their elections are not until 2017.
There are regional elections in December. Obviously she won’t be on the presidential ballot which is, you correctly note, not until 2017. But the December elections are still important, and I’d wager that the FN is going to do pretty well....
Thanks for the info. Their midterm elections might start looking like ours, with people making a protest vote for FN.
that’s exactly right....sort of a preview as it were of what’s to come two years later
A lying liberal like Trump changing his behavior?
Not likely.
Today he is attacking Carson.
Tomorrow he will be attacking you.
Enjoy the liberal narcissist !
