Recent University Protests Are A Direct Result Of Liberalism In America
Absolute Rights ^ | 11/13/15 | Mike Lavery

Can someone please point out for me the moment when our college students became so precious? At what point in time, did the future CEOs, the Presidents and the key decision makers of some of the worlds leading multi-million dollar companies become such special little snowflakes?

This week we saw just how screwed our future generations are when an Ivy League university became the prime example of what happens when we make “everyone a winner” in life. Leave it to Yale University to become the first focal point in what turned into a week of flash points between students and professors across the country. And the cause? They were offended. Yes, you read that right.

Now, just to be clear about something, I don’t get offended and I think that anyone who does needs to have a look in the mirror and have a word with themselves. This country is being dragged through the gutter by prissy liberals who pride themselves on being Social Justice Warriors with the one objective in life of making the world a politically correct “safe space.” For those who are not up to date with the ever changing trends in this new world we live in, a “safe space” is a dedicated area where people who are oppressed, offended, different, gay, trans or whatever it may be they identify with can escape the big old meanies of the world and live a life of fluffy clouds and rainbows and unicorns. Their purpose is to create an enviroment where no one will make them feel out of place. I cannot roll my eyes any further in my head. And it gets worse. These “safe spaces” are in our schools and our kids are being taught that they are important parts of life. We’re all doomed.

This all comes from people who get offended, and it’s utterly incredible to me that this is what it’s come to for mankind. You see, we are all blessed with this amazing addition to our bodies and minds. It’s called being able to make a choice. Choice kicks in when we see or hear something that may not fit in with what we feel is acceptable to us personally. It’s at that point that we can continue being in that situation, or we can choose to move on and let it go. Before you know it, you’ve moved on. It’s the most wonderful thing. The technology equivalent would be the Television remote. It’s the most incredible invention. If you see something on television that you don’t like, you can press a little button and it takes it away. Of course, we all know about these because I’m guessing, like me, you are of sound mind and smart enough to know that the only person you makes us feel offended is us.

There are, however, those who are offended about everything. And boy, do they like to let you know about it. In the case of Yale, it was non other that good old Halloween that was to blame for triggering a group of the most obnoxious, whiney, spoiled, disgusting excuses for adults I have ever has the misfortune to lay eyes on.

Keeping in line with the ever offended society we live in, the university’s Intercultural Affairs Council asked students to be thoughtful about the cultural implications of their Halloween costumes. This lead to a email response from Associate Master of Silliman College, Erika Christakis, who—rightly so—drew attention to the absurdity of such a request. This ultimatley lead to students calling her resignation and being the fuel for an ugly confrontation between them—namely one little princess who has very obviously never been told no in life—and Associate Master’s husband, Master of Silliman College, Nicholas Christakis who—rightly so—defended her statement. The exchange was caught on camera and went viral. Not only did the students draw fierce criticism from almost everyone who saw it, it also raised the aforementioned questions of what on earth is going on in our world where this downright despicable behavior is deemed acceptable.

The second incident in so many days occurred over in Missouri where the University of Missouri faced strong criticism over how they handled a series of racist incidents on campus. The result from a situation that should have a) never happened to begin with and b) never been allowed by the powers that be to reach a point where the escaladed into yet another show of the racial divide in this country. The initial protests saw a loss of jobs of two top officials: President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin. Now, four days later, the world is watching, the mainstream media are camped out to report on every little flare up, there are scuffles between press and students and, worryingly, the KKK and Black Panthers are showing their presence.

For the most part, we all agree that everyone in this country has the right to exercise his or her first amendment rights. We ALL have the Freedom of Speech. We don’t have to agree with what some people say and we don’t’ even have to like it, but its called democracy and it’s why millions have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defending it.

It’s high time that the imbiciles at these universities and those in the rest of the “safe spaces” around the country understood that they can scream, shout and swear until they blow a blood vessel, but we are ALL entitled to say what we want, when we want, to who we want to and not give a damn to who we may upset along the way.

Why can’t our kids handle being offended? Why must they have ‘safe spaces?’

Yes, it is part of the everybody wins psychology, but dig a little deeper. Why did several generations teach their kids that everybody wins?

It was all based on the idea of building children’s self-esteem. But winning all the time doesn’t build self-esteem, losing every once in while, getting up, dusting yourself off, and trying again or differently does.

All these ‘snowflakes’ are the result of modern psychology and the ‘self-esteem’ building generations.

I’ll also bet that George Soros is funding most of these so-called “demonstrations.”

George Soros is apparently a major share holder in the railroad that employs the hunger strike activist. Infowars has a report on the connections to Soros.

Look up the CNN transcript where Soros admits to funding the Neo Nazi’s in Ukraine. His handy work is everywhere these days.

I wonder though if people in MO can be “shown” the truth. Or elsewhere for that matter

>>Why can’t our kids handle being offended?

Because “we” didn’t raise them right. They wanted participation trophies and they got them. They wanted a ride to school and they got it. They wanted all the new electronics and we gave it to them. Somebody called them a name on FB and we coined a term, Cyber-bullying, instead of just telling them to suck it up and ignore the troll. Why are we surprised that they arrived at college as spoiled little brats who each think that each he, she, or ze is the center of the universe?

The parents of these monsters created them. The student body at school just reinforces what the parents taught them— that they are special and precious and the ruler of the universe and NO ONE can disagree with them.

Some of us foresaw the ultimate outcome of this “self-esteem” scam thirty years ago.

A lot of what you say is true. I'd also add that they raised their kids too far removed from the real world. With scheduled play dates, lessons for everything, no free time to go out in the neighborhood and play, they have a very immature concept of the problems of the underclass. They're over-compensating for their and their parents ignorance of the real world and the negative impacts the forced diversity culture has given us. They don't know how to push back when they're being threatened.

The sad reality is concerned parents who strive to raise law-abiding children with standards will pull their children out. They will not let their children attend a school that is manipulated by thugs and revolutionaries. Busing ruined urban schools in the 1960s and 1970s when social engineering was tried.

I really don't know what's wrong with the state of Missouri. You'd think after the missteps and chaos from caving to rabble rousers in Ferguson, they would've checked out the protestors backgrounds and kicked non-students off campus. They would've known if any leaders were manipulated by outside agitators.

Missouri and any other college that bows to this tyranny is through. A place of learning cannot bow to thugs and revolutionaries. It cannot be teaching its students to bow to those who don't respect education and process.

The sad irony is this will destroy real opportunity for those who depend most on public education for college. Just as the original busing destroyed neighborhoods and urban schools.

Though you are 100% correct that they are planned events, if there were not 100,000's of useful "skulls full of mush", they couldn't be pulled off.

Yes, there is money behind it. But without the willing participation of indoctrinated mush heads, the money wouldn't have been able to do anything. Though a portion of the participants are paid SEIU thugs, not all are.

Look at the OWS "movement." Yes, money put that "movement" together, but it was seen as a "cool" thing to do for a while by the "mush-heads." That's why there were as many initially participating as there were. Once it got boring, the "mush heads" departed and the paid agitators remained.

It all started when they told parents, teachers, and principles they couldn’t spank the kids.

The psychology, sociology, and professional educational professors were the biggest proponents of “self-esteem” movement.

Very perceptive, but the American people won't figure it out.
