Sen. Marco Rubio clarified his view on the 11 million immigrants, who are in the United States illegally. The day after a presidential debate, which exposed a continuing divide in the Republican Party on immigration, Rubio told NPR on Wednesday that he favors a path to citizenship for some, though the prospect would be very distant.
"If you haven't been here very long, or you're a criminal, you will be deported," Rubio told NPR's Morning Edition. "Otherwise, you will have to come forward, pass the background check, learn English, pay a fine, because you violated the law, start paying taxes, and you'll get a work permit. And that's all you're going to have for at least a decade."
Rubio went a step further. "After 10 years on the work permit, I personally am open to - after the 10 years have expired - to allowing people to apply for a green card, just through the normal process that anyone else would use."

Illegal means ILLEGAL, i.e., lawbreaker.

Never become a citizen and after you finish your incarceration of 3 or more years you may leave by crossing the border out of my country.

For people in the border states who have dealt with illegals, this is a ridiculous pipe dream. Their idea is to squat in such numbers that they do what they want to and the stupid Gringo can like it or lump it. This is the main reason that I will never support Rubio.
They’ve been using that 11M number since the early 2000s. Right now its more like 30-40M.
They were talking about each illegals being entitled to a hearing. Fine...."Do you have papers?" No...out you go.
Then when Rubio tried to back it down, Schumer came out with an article saying that Rubio came to him and wanted this...
Rubio now cannot take it back, and immigration is our biggest election push....if he can't handle this, then he should stand up and take the heat....
In the end it doesn’t matter if they get citizenship or not, as long as they are allowed to stay and are still fertile, they will be pumping out anchor babies.
The hearings are scheduled, and the illegals don't show up.
Here is what I favor: A huge wall, no matter what it costs. Employer penalties that hurt so bad they can bankrupt a business if they hire illegals. Deportation and incarceration for people who are deported and come back. And finally asset seizure for illegals. Seizing assets from them will cause mass self deportation with 6 months of fair notice.
