Dale Brigham, a nutrition professor at the University of Missouri, implored his students not to cave in to âbulliesâ when he said an exam scheduled for today would proceed.
He was apparently talking about the fear among black students owing to threats posted on Yik Yak yesterday.
Brighamâs alleged indifference to his studentsâ fears led them to savage him on social media, some in incredibly crude terms, and now Brigham has resigned, he confirmed to local station KOMU:
âI am just trying to do what I think is best for our students and the university as an institution,â Brigham said to KOMU 8 News. âIf my leaders think that my leaving would help, I am all for it. I made a mistake, and I do not want to cause further harm.â
Just to be clear, Mizzou did not cancel classes campuswide â professors made that call for their own classes.
Well...It sure looks like the good Professor's chickens have come home to roost.!! You reap what you sow... In this case it's bastard liberal kids....
:)
Yep. Been blowing through my area as well. Limbs down, power on and off in some locations.
I bet some of the tents are going flying.
I think they pulled up the tents. They got the professor fired so the protest is over.
I could be wrong. Wonder if they (media) would even mention it if it happened ?
Like an abscess coming to a head!
Now you know what all those bullets are for.
If he is that weak he shouldn’t be in charge of a popsicle stand let alone a classroom. Either that or he is bright enough to know that he can make more money and put up with less crap in the private sector.
This whole kerfuffle is a giant blue on blue own goal.
blue on blue: as in blue states/counties/constituencies dupes attacking each other. AKA the left eating its own, to mix in yet another metaphor.
own goal: “(in soccer) a goal scored inadvertently when the ball is struck into the goal by a player on the defensive team.”
Please explain the Ira Magaziner reference.
I was in the same room with him once, as a child, when my dad took me to work one day at the phone company, back when it was THE phone company.
We all were forced into a room with him, and he talked about bottlenecks. I was about 10, and he was lame.
The mau mauing will only stop when the Ton Ton Macoute take over, and that will be even worse.
Our ancestors are weeping right now.
Ahhhh. You are correct. I think this whole dust up is really going to bite the liberal collegiate class in the butt. Major donors who have some class will see the leaders of these institutions for the lame weak folks they have become.
Before Ira “saved” Wang computers or was floated as Hillary’s top guy for HillaryCare, he made his bones as a student activist. Wikipedia fleshes it out...but the gist was that college curricula were out-dated, and, well, just too darn hard for a lot of folks to follow. Essentially, the inmates were handed the keys to academia in the same way we see it today at Missou. Wealthy student leaders, campus unrest....this is the Hillary playbook...Magaziner is at Clinton Global Initiative, now. These agitators will produce the next Holders, Clintons and Obamas.
Good!
