DETROIT, MI - Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson's account of being offered a full scholarship at West Point was called into question this week after the military academy said he never applied to the school.
Carson admitted Friday that he never applied to West Point. Rather, the neurosurgeon from Detroit said he was informally offered a scholarship by a top U.S. Army general, but decided not to pursue it.
However, The Detroit News reports that the encounter Carson was referring to, and that is described in his best-selling 1990 autobiography "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story," does not match historical records.
Carson's book says he met with the U.S. Army's chief of staff, Gen. William Westmoreland, on Memorial Day 1969, after marching as a top ROTC cadet for Detroit's former Southwestern High School. But Westmoreland's schedule says he was in Washington that day.
You never answered my question why you support the Pro massive amnesty, anti gun ,
Pro treason TPP treaty candidate , candidate ?
You dodge it?
I just don't fall for the latest scam artist like Ben Carson .
The media hates all Goper but finds some like Carson or Rubio useful to get the weakest option to battle Comrade Hillary beast .
You won't even answer my f
You will be waiting a long time before I dance to your little smear tune medley. Get over yourself dweeb.
Ok
You see; Dr. Carson is a REAL black man who has accomplished
REAL things in his life; unlike the current half white
community organizer guy occupying that position now. As such, Carson cannot be allowed to mess up Obama’s magical story nor hinder Hillary’s equally magical ascension &”rightful” claim as heir to the throne.
I think his real name is Neville.
Phew. You’re a real hard-ass.
“In 1985 I met and talked with Gen Jimmy Doolittle for almost an hour. Definitely a highlight of my life.”
According to Doolittle’s calendar, you are a liar and disqualified for being POTUS.
It cracks me up. This whole episode reminds me of what they did to Clarence Thomas. Nothing but a high tech lynching knocking that uppity N word down. How dare he leave the Plantation! Just you wait, they’ll find an Anita Hill in his closet next complaining about pubic hairs in her drink.
It is not about taking a shallow look and calling what you see “evil” at the level you have been calling it, either.
Forget “putting liberals in cages.” How about setting people free to be righteous.
And you act like you don’t have the first clue why Christ went to that Cross.
Frankly you are acting like there already is a class of good people, without need of any ministration of the Lord to get them that way, but simply of their own awesome nature. And so the only need is to get the broom out and sweep away the others.
BIG problem here: the bible flatly denies there is any such class. I got where I am by the ministration of the Lord. I never walked to Christ at the cross as a righteous person, and neither can you.
Here’s another for your Troll count Rita.
No, it's because that every time Carson speaks there's an excellent chance that he will entice some in the Democrat Socialists' black constituency (i.e., "black herd") to pick themselves up as individuals and move off the welfare plantation Democrats have controlled them in. Until the Democrat Socialist Party can import enough mexicans (legal or illegal -- doesn't matter right now) to form an even larger voting bloc, they cannot afford to lose even a small proportion of blacks or they'll never win a national election.
The Politico took several events and stuck them in one paragraph to make it look like they all happened on the same day. You have fallen prey to the Politico’s deliberate lie.
The inconsistencies in Carson’s stories are peripheral issues that don’t amount to much.
His problems with supporting amnesty, gun control and TPP are more dangerous and troubling.
Also, every debate he changes his position on something. Third debate he changed his position on subsidies. Last night he changed his position on minimum wage.
