At a campaign event in Springfield, Illinois, Donald Trump suggested a boycott of coffee giant Starbucks over the design of its Christmas coffee cups. The all-red design has angered religious conservatives who see it as part of an effort to undermine the meaning of Christmas.
"Starbucks is taking merry Christmas off [their cups] no more merry Christmas," Trump said.
"If I become president, we'll all be saying merry Christmas again," the candidate said to applause.
Trump told a raucous crowd, "Maybe we should boycott Starbucks. I don't know."
The real estate mogul also attacked his main rival, Ben Carson.
"This is a strange election, isn't it?", he said. "If you try and hit your mother over the head with a hammer, your poll numbers go up."
Carson has faced a barrage of questions in recent days over claims about his allegedly violent past.

indeed
The cups are Starbuck’s business... if I don’t like them I shall not purchase their coffee. Another non-controversy (among many) seeking attention.
Stopped drinking Starbucks years ago. Problem is I love the Chicken Salad with Cranberry and Tarragon sandwich. It falls into the category of best thing I ever ate.
Proud to say I’ve never set foot in Starbucks and don’t care if their cups are purple with green dots. Is the red for Christmas in recognition of Jesus’ blood shed for us all or are they promoting Communism or is Hooters taking away all their buxom baristas so all they’re left with is a red light district on their cups? Don’t know. Don’t particularly care. That said, it’s ridiculous to waste customers’ money on a new temporary cup design.
So now we have a Candidate running in the national election that loves Christmas, and low and behold, a national chain of COFFEE does something that the pResident doesn't like, muzlims you see, don't believe in Christ, they believe in Mohammad...I wonder how long it will be before the a bill goes thru the House and Senate to stop Christmas altogether....?????
Trump is doing a great job getting sucked into stupid issues nobody cares about.
Perhaps but I did not notice it until certainly this year?
I’m just sick of all the political correctness rubbish. Stick a fork in it!
Besides who they hell they think they are to say the command the English language and like Gods or a suicide Cult THEY determine what’s proper to say. They are violating us when they say I can’t say something. F*ck them!
Hey, leave O'Reilly out of it.
Starbucks is doing what, precisely?
Changing the design of their cups?
They do that every year.
And guess what? They haven't said Merry Christmas or had a nativity scene on them. So how is changing the design being done "in order to not offend non-Christians?"
Answer: It isn't.
It was made up by someone who was looking to stir up trouble and you are so ready to jump on any offense that you took the bait hook, line, and sinker.
You allowed yourself to get played because you were feeling offended rather than use your brain to determine if there really was offense.
The cup issue is simply one of a million tiny cuts, and thus should be ignored until the wound is much larger.
It will be easier to address when the wound is spurting blood, not now when a Band-Aid can fix it.
Maybe you are offended that you can’t say “Merry Christmas” but what’s next? Thank God? Pointing to the sky? ...
Ditto the “Merry Christmas” stuff - and I’m Jewish. I am thoroughly sick and tired of this PC crap, and wishing someone Merry Christmas (when the vast majority of the nation is Christian) is simple politeness. Oh, and when someone wishes me one, I say “Thank you, and you, too.” BECAUSE IT IS POLITE and they meant well.
Anyway, I already boycott Starbucks - but because their coffee tastes like it is burned, because they are expensive, because the “in” crowd of snooty @ssholes loves it, and finally because they are anti-gun. Other than that, its a great place.
I despise Starbucks. Hate the coffee. Hate the company. Hate the smarmy leftist CEO Harold Schultz.
This is pompous a-hole who told someone at a board meeting: “If you support traditional marriage over gay marriage, Starbucks doesn’t want your business.”
Okay you just said this was made up by “Someone”.
I never met a person by the name of “Someone”? Who is “someone”?
Now you are saying their evidence was fabricated. Please show me the fake evident from t”Someone”.
I like Dunkin Donuts coffee. It’s pretty tasty.
Didn’t Starbucks stick its coffee dripping nose into the Indiana religious freedom fight? Maybe Trump was just predisposed to slap an obnoxious bully. If memory is correct, the Starbucks CEO actually threatened the Indiana leaders who started to do the right thing, but backed down to the “politically correct” bullies.
I don’t know anything about that, but it would not surprise me. LOL!
