But in Florida, a 4-year deputy being honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for making more than 100 DUI arrests was too intoxicated to pick up his award.
Pinellas County deputy Michael Szeliga arrived at a statewide police training event "ready to party," according to WFLA.
Szeliga, who allegedly packed a bottle of liquor for the 2-day training event in Fort Lauderdale, was described as âstaggeringly drunkâ by a witness at the Friday night banquet where he was slated to receive the MADD award.
A 274-page report on the deputyâs behavior indicates he and two other officers went to the hotel pool, where they drank alcohol instead of attending DUI training. Szeliga drank and played cornhole until he saw his fellow deputies leaving training. Then he returned to his room to get ready for the awards ceremony.

100 DUI arrests provided more than enough money to pay his salary.

Cornhole ... and if you don't have a beer in your non-throwing hand, you're doing it wrong.

Two years ago in VA Beach a police officer, who was the top revenue generator for the department because he was the top DUI writer, was arrested for DUI after leaving an ocean front bar and plowing his car into the rear end of the car in front of him and tried to leave the scene.
Karma is a bitch.

More objective evidence of the moral depravity of our LEOs! The Law is “for the little people, not us!”
Right now I’m waiting to see if the LEOS in Waco, Texas and Adams County, Idaho are able to cover up some obvious murders!

A 274-page report on the deputy's behavior indicates he and two other officers went to the hotel pool, where they drank alcohol instead of attending DUI training. Did it indicate that they were fired and/or prosecuted? Didn't think so.

he and two other officers went to the hotel pool, where they drank alcohol instead of attending DUI training That WAS a training session. The idea was for them to get drunk, then go out to the parking lot and drive their cruisers into light poles so they can "experience" a DUI experience from the driver's perspective.
