The latest attack ad targeting Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) in the Louisiana gubernatorial race claims that he chose "prostitutes over patriots."
The 30-second spot contrasts Vitter with opponent Louisiana state Rep. John Bel Edwards (D) on their commitment to the armed forces.
"The choice for governor couldn't be more clear: John Bel Edwards, who answered our country's call and served as a Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division," the ad begins, "or David Vitter, who answered a prostitute's call minutes after he skipped a vote honoring 28 soldiers who gave their lives in defense of freedom."
"David Vitter chose prostitutes over patriots," it concludes. "Now the choice is yours."

Vitter is damaged by his own weak primary campaign and the unpopularity of Jindal, who according to one report spent more days outside of LA than within the state in 2014. I don’t know how many may mistakenly think “John Bel” is Edwin’s son, probably quite a few.
Will never happen; did you see John F. Kerry do that?
I agree with your sentiment. I’m not a LA voter - otherwise I would vote for Vitter, but I’m doing what I can to encourage conservatives to do so.
“To paraphrase GHWB, Vitter is in “deep doo-doo” and unlikely to prevail. But I didnât think Bevin would win either, and he drew a comfortable margin.”
Well, as they say it ain’t over until it’s over. Let’s not forget that this a very conservative Republican state and Edwards wouldn’t likely be running this sort of risky ad if he thought he were comfortably ahead.
I figured “the Bel” had something to do with distinguishing himself from Edwards.
I assume “Bel” is an oddly-spelled middle name; it’s not that clear. But the last name is Edwards, not “Bel Edwards.”
Could be his mother’s maiden name? I don’t know but it is odd for a middle name and does the job of bel edwards vs. edwards.
dear NO,
re:
“Do you honestly think that Senator Vitter is unpatriotic?”
I am not stating what the ‘ad’ stated. I am stating what he DID do. Vitter is the senator that represents my district. Vitter IS on record, and has been since that whole episode came forward, that he was in communication with, and in the presence of, the now-mysteriously dead, D.C. Madame, during the time of that vote in question.
So, instead of being present for the resolution to salute and honor non-fussified military veterans in Louisiana, he was giving his full attention to the fussy in D.C.
dear sgtbob,
your last tranmission seems to be coming through on the sideband.
re:
“You may as well pull the lever for JBL...see how well that worked out in the 2014 pres elections?”
Who ‘jbl’?
John Bel Edwards...
Blue Dogs all supported ObamaCare, remember?
Very well remember!
That is why Arkansas voted out the last of them! They really didn’t believe they would lose by voting for it but they got a rude awakening!
The same will go for immigration. Let any of them try to push illegals down our throat!
Thanks No Dems 2016.
