Northern California Sierra Foothills, very visible Grandson saw it and hollered we all ran out to watch trying to figure out what it was.

There are places in Colorado that are a long way above sea level. The lowest point in Colorado is 3300+ feet above sea level. So, yeah, all of them are...

Yes, I live in one. 7,600 feet. Unfortunately there are 14,000 ft. peaks just five miles to my west.

Weird...there’s also a pretty good asteroid shower going on. If I were a conspiracy nut I might think that this was an intercepted missile from someone not friendly to us. Why do it at night and cause all kinds of unnecessary alarm. Could have just as well have done it in the daytime.

The skies West of LAX have had a NOTAM forbidding air traffic **AT NIGHT** for the past week due to “military activities,” so this launch was planned for night time for some time in advance...for some reason.

Lasers, dude. Probably from a ground installation and the flyby jet was for additional information / video / whatever.

It all had a strange errie feeling t it, and we were trying to connect it to the shower going on.
To: Southack
Think there might be a connection between this and the reported shut off of radiation sensors on the west coast?
To: al baby
Nah. This wasn’t Obama. This was our better men, the R&D people, checking to see if their lasers can work on ballistic missiles. Apparently they can. :)

U.S. Navy has just confirmed that it was a Trident II D-5 submerged missile launch in coordination with other military activities.

They won’t say what those ‘other activites’ were, but we both know.
