ATLANTA (CBS46) - The next time you are in a grocery or convenience store, check out the magazine aisle. As CBS46 investigative reporter Karyn Greer found out, gun porn appears to be more popular than travel and cooking magazines and in plain sight of impressionable children.
Sexually explicit and tabloid magazines are kept on the top shelves of stores to keep them out of sight of precious young children, but gun magazines are in plain sight and easy reach for anyone to grab and take a peek.
"It just proliferates the spread of guns and glamourizes guns and everything that goes along with it," said Glenn Sutton.
Gun porn is described as photos of guns that display them in the same carefully posed and lighted manner as the models in traditional pornography. The magazines include glossy covers with sexy young women armed and ready to shoot.
"For some people this may be gun porn...but I think it's their right," said Genarlo Lawhorn.
CBS46 went undercover to Publix, Kroger and Walmart to find the magazines. In one Publix, we found 15 gun magazines, more than travel, cooking and beauty magazines, at eye level, easily accessible to young children. A Dr. Seuss display was directly in front of rifle and gun magazines.
We contacted the stores to get the policy on gun magazines with no response.
Karen, Glenn, this may come as a shock to you, but in a still slightly free country (yes, I know you’re working on it, but you’re not there yet), you don’t get to demand that sellers legal (and in fact Constitutionally protected) product you don’t happen to approve of, must skulk around and act ashamed of themselves, their product, or their customers.
Besides, that sword cuts both ways, and you really don’t want to go there. You wouldn’t want to see the list of stuff I wouldn’t want YOUR kids to look at.

I never wrote to a magazine before but I just had to tell you about this incredible experience.
I was out shopping for a new weapon with my wife Lydia and she suggested that we...well you know, maybe try something new in...well it’s sort of embarrassing but I gotta tell someone!
We went to the shop and we looked over some...er...hardware the likes of which I’d never seen. Long, hard, thick and...well...black (No Racist!)
After talking with the girl behind the counter a while and making some jokes at my experience, the girl asked me the ...well Caliber of my weapon. Yea it’s a pretty personal thing and all but I found it rather arousing at the same time.
When I whipped it out and laid it on the counter, her eyes lit up.
“Oh! it so bof!” she said with a wink in lydia’s direction.
“You sure are a lucky girl!”
Is that a magazine (”clip” for you lib hoplophobes), or are you just happy to see me?
Are these anti-Second Amendment nutjobs serious? There is no such thing as ‘gun porn’. If these gun-grabbers don’t like guns, then don’t own one. How freaking hard is that to understand?!?!? I personally dislike guns, but I only support and vote for candidates that are STAUNCHLY pro-Second Amendment. My personal beliefs in no way should infringe upon any other citizen’s ability to own and enjoy a handgun, shotgun, or rifle. The writer of this supposed journalistic endeavour would do well to remember that little tidbit.
