Bill OâReilly and his collaborator, Martin Dugard, will distort public understanding of Ronald Reaganâs presidency more than hostile but conscientious scholars could.

I guess everyone will just have to wait for my biography of Reagan, which will take several years. I go back to the Reagan Library in Jan., having just done a little stint in the Ford Library.
Asking an ex-wife contains its own biases.
Everything I needed to know about Ronald Reagan was from:

Will is a RINO hack, O’Reilly is an ignorant blowhard, so the hell with both of them.
A pox on both of their houses. Will defending the late great Ronald Reagan was quite a surprise considering his absurd rantings these last few years. I do not even bother to read his columns.
As for O’Reilly, his ego is so huge, I am surprised that his head has yet to explode. It would be an insult to the animal world to say that he is a horse’s ass. I saw the two of them last evening as I worked out at our fitness center. O’Reilly was beyond being rude. It was interesting that Will never told him to shut up so that he could get a word in. Made me wonder if Will is a chicken s**t, or was he simply allowing O’Reilly to come across as the ass that he truly is.
I watch O’Reilly. I find him entertaining and funny. But I’m also amused that there are people who think he’s a conservative. He’s a run-of-the-mill populist. H’d have been Huey Long or William Randolph Hearst in another era. I think he means well...but he’s basically a statist so far as I can tell.
And while I admire Will’s ability to turn a phrase, I regard him as a standard piece of the DC establishment puzzle. You know: the Bill Safire/David Brooks “respectable” (i.e., not very) conservative.
So I have about the same regard for each: interesting in his way, but not part of the conservative movement.
As a result I think I’m pretty neutral. And when I watched this exchange, it seemed that Will made one very compelling point. He pointed out that BO made no effort to talk to any of the still-living major players in Reagan’s administration. And BO didn’t deny that. To me, that’s a major point, of which I wasn’t aware.
Because of that, I won’t be buying this book. And it’s the only one in this stupid “Killing” series I was considering purchasing. So Will did me a solid.

Dont go near the Clinton library; I got the heave when I asked where the dress was. Had to beat it to the car in case they called the cops.
Right!
The kind of people who think the Bushes are conservative, and will argue with you vehemently if you say they're not.
That is deeply insulting to Howard Beale.
I think Rush calls him “Ted Baxter”. Savage calls him “The Leprechaun”.
FU Bill O’Reilly.
I think BOR is obnoxious and an ego maniac.
Good post.
I could not sit there all those years and listen to the cr@p. I would have exploded. So maybe he's developed some super level of self control.
Thank you, sir!
Hank
Whole life. I am in his Hollywood years. Have some interesting and little known tidbits in here.
Er.....that would be "Thank you, ma'am" :)
