Over time we all will learn more about the savaging of Tyshawn Lee, the basketball devotee who won't celebrate his 10th birthday. Multiple gunshot wounds pre-empted that prospect Monday afternoon. Depending on where the first bullet hit, his body responded as best it could: His nerves likely activated chemical neurotransmitters that created an atmosphere of pain, shock and fear in his brain. Owing to massive tissue damage, loss of oxygen-carrying blood or both, Tyshawn ultimately drew one dying breath.
We hope every Illinois lawmaker finds a private moment to imagine that annihilation of a child on this city's South Side. Especially the Chicago lawmakers who have blocked legislation that would stiffen sentences for gun crimes.
Maybe, as is custom for the lawmakers, they'll decry the violence on their streets, do absolutely nothing about it and move on. They're absorbed by big battles they'll fight in Springfield. That’s slowly changing in Chicago since they were forced to issue concealed weapon permits. Sadly it won’t stop the gang shootings of innocent bystanders.
Is it gun violence or criminal violence?
If it’s gun violence, then why are people put in jail? If the victims were killed by knives, would it still be a crime.

RVN 1969, I was shot in the head.
No movie can compare.
We have a large group that think Rambo or The Deer Hunter are true and factual.
I try to forget the many times I’ve been ask about Russian roulette in Vietnam, and by educated people too.
Yes, I understand that russian roulette is an allegory,a good one; I have given up trying to explain it.
LOL! Stupid liberals want to ban guns but not lock-up the bad guys. Typical liberal Democrat mindset.
