No. 11 overall pick in 1990 NFL Draft convicted on three murder charges By John Breech | CBSSports.com November 6, 2015 5:00 pm ET
A former NFL first-round pick was convicted on three counts of murder on Thursday.
Anthony Wayne Smith, who was taken 11th overall by the Raiders in the 1990 NFL Draft, was convicted after eight days of deliberation by a jury in Lancaster, California, a Los Angeles County district attorney's office spokesman told the Los Angeles Times.
Smith had been on trial for a total of four murders; however, jurors were deadlocked on the fourth charge and a mistrial was declared on that charge.
The three murders that Smith was convicted of took place between 1999 and 2001.
In 1999, Smith kidnapped two brothers from their car-wash business in LA. Less than 24 hours later, the brothers were found dead.
According to pretrial testimony obtained by ABC-7 in LA, not only did the brothers suffer gunshot wounds, but their heads were wrapped in duct tape and at least one of them had been branded with an iron.
In the other murder, which took place in 2001, Smith kidnapped a man and then stabbed him to death. The man's body was later found in the trunk of a rental car.

At least he kept it out of the white community.
Well, it appears it was appropriate for the gangsta thugs to support him, anyways.
Another victim of racist white micro-aggression driven to violence by his despair.

Never hire someone with the middle name of Wayne.
Maybe if he was drafted #1 he would have gotten off.
Still pissed about Nichole Simpson. I know her sister, and this has had seriously damaging consequences for the family.
Remember, our felons are better athletes than your felons.
Good thing he is not longer playing, that would have cost him a two game suspension.
Any idea of the motive?
Thank goodness it was not a charge of domestic violence, that could have been a career ender! The NFL hates that.
Cue “Autumn Winds” NFL films music.
“The man’s body was later found in the trunk of a rental car.”
In cahoots with OJ back then? *SMIRK*
‘We knew we drafted the right man!’
Ummm,
What is the significance of the NFL draft?
Every murderer, or good guy for that matter has a past????
OH heavens you are right another murdering Murderer Wayne Murderer.
Never give your child that name. If you’ve already given him that name change it right now!
“Any idea of the motive?”
Blew through all his NFL cash?
