No surprise here: Donald Trump was the first to react to news Friday that Ben Carson was never offered admission at West Point, despite his past claims that he was offered a scholarship to the military academy.
"WOW, one of the many lies by Ben Carson! Big story," Trump tweeted, the latest in a string of attacks on Carson by the business mogul.

Thank you, sir. What’s written in the book looks like a nothing burger to me.
He also says he was “offered a full scholarship” in the video posted here: http://mediamatters.org/research/2015/11/06/conservative-media-react-to-ben-carsons-admissi/206676
Again ignore Politico. Forget them. This has nothing to do with them or even Media Matters. He says it, in his own words, on TV.
He says this to Charlie Rose, “I was offered a full scholarship to West Point.” - Oct 9th, 2015

It gives the impression he was accepted to West Point.
He never mentioned Politico and does not deal with them:

He did padding and now in a trap. He can blame Ghost writer.
I think this Carson controversy is BS but it doesnt change my support for Trump. It’s not too late for Trump to turn this around and hammer the media with it.
I don’t hate him. As a businessman, I admire him. I admire Warren Buffett as a,businessman, too.
But both are arch liberals. Thus both are execrable presidential candidates. And trump is a liar.
“Thus both are execrable presidential candidates. And trump is a liar.”
No, you are, you lie about Trump all the time. Look in the mirror.
The video seems worse than the book. Frightening how one word or omission of one word qualifies as a full indictment. Im going to side with Rush and agree this is a lynching. Still pulling for Trump, though.
Actually, I just looked this up in his book, and he never says he “got” a full scholarship to WP. He says he was “offered” one. Further, he never (as Politico tries to imply) says he applied to or was accepted to WP. In fact, he says the opposite - he rejected the chance to go to WP to pursue his medical career.

So Ben ‘got’ an ‘offer’.
Has any one of us ever ‘gotten’ an ‘offer’ of a ‘scholarship’ from a school a) they never applied to, or b) one that charges no tuition to anyone attending?
for a super smart man, he sure mangled the queen’s English on this one (best case scenario).
How so? I was offered scholarships to several schools which I did not end up attending. My saying so in no wise gives the impression that I went to them.
Trump calls CNN and Politico liars on a regular basis. I agree with his assessment. Yet, when their stories discredit Carson, suddenly they have credibility ?
Not sure what to make of either one of these men in an election like no other.
a) Yes, actually, I did.
b) IIRC, while WP doesn’t charge tuition, it does offer scholarships for things like special study programs and the like.
No, you close your eyes and say, “I don’t see any lies.”
I sympathize. I think he needs to be marched back and forth to his meals and be watched taking his medication. He's probably scammed enough money over the last year to get a top notch residential facility. Oh, and no more scalpels.
“No, you close your eyes and say, âI donât see any lies.â”
I see yours very clearly.
This is what I found when I looked at Trump’s tweets -

So, this came from Robostop10, not Donald Trump.
Carson own word speak for itself in that video. He gives the impression he was accepted, and he said he didn’t go. There is an acceptance process for a US military academy. The applicants gets their congressman or their senator to nominate them to the academy. I didn’t say that say that “acceptance” equals going to a US military Academy.
I guess I mean something a bit more binding than if you apply and are accepted, you can expect to receive in the neighborhood of x dollars in scholarships/grants and the like.
I have a daughter who attended college on a full scholarship so I am somewhat familiar with the process.
But not until the application was in and she was accepted did the negotiations of real scholarship dollars begin.
