Elon Musk is the best-positioned world leader to turn around next month's Paris climate summit.
No one else dares to say: "Right here, right now, is our best opportunity for every country to set a timetable on pricing climate pollution."

In that he purchased a Tesla this writer has lost all credibility with me.
Anyhow here's Elon Musk's 20,000 square foot house in Bel Aire. Notice large air conditioning units on the roof, the heated pool and not a solar panel to be seen.
Musk is losing $5,000 on every car sold.
How long till he asks for a new bailout w/ our money ?
Which world does Musk lead>?
The world in which taxpayers provide a $10,000 subsidy to every person who purchases a Tesla.
Ha, from the headline I was envisioning musk being crop sprayed to stop Mother Nature.
Uh, doesn’t the article author realize that climate change control is good for business, if your name is Elon Musk?
Of course the author knows this.
By not anticipating this doubt, the author is a liar.
uhh, forgive my ignorance, but who in the hell is Elon Musk?? sounds like a name out of the Star Wars universe..
Sure, a guy whose cars have Spontaneous Combustion Engines can change the world’s opinion?.............
Not unusual for a startup to lose money while doing R&D and developing sustainable market share. I’m in one now - revenue is growing very nicely, even though operating costs were larger for several years; at some point you pass break-even and start raking it in. Losing $5k on a $100k car isn’t bad, so long as the losses are decreasing and sustainable market share is increasing.
But all liberal climate-change cultists of the Goreum are hypocrites.
Just think in 10 years the cars may only cost $50K and not do anything more than make Musk wealthy beyond compare.
“Which world does Musk lead>? “
Fantasyland.
Musk is the worlds record holder as a “Welfare Billionaire”
It's even better when the federal government is willing to use its power to extort money from middle class working taxpayers and give to the politically well connected to establish the business, prop it up, and boost sales.
His name may be strange, but Elon Musk is real.
He started PayPal, and made billions of dollars by selling it.
Since then he’s in the process of starting several major businesses:
- Tesla makes industry-disrupting electric cars, starting at luxury levels and working down to mass-market mid-priced vehicles.
- SpaceX is picking up where NASA left off, developing reusable launch vehicles for [relatively] cheap hauling of cargo & passengers to space, with long-term plans to populate Mars.
- Solar City is bringing solar electric production to homes cheap & easy (you rent, they install & own the panels).
- ...and is exploring starting HyperLoop, a super-high-speed LA-to-SF transport.
If the fictional name Tony Stark means anything to you, well, Elon Musk is a real-life Tony Stark.
More like he’s targeting a $30k price range for next year.
Nothing wrong with earning “crazy rich”. Do something meaningful for society, reap the earned rewards. Replacing gas cars with electric, and making them much improved driving experience, is a good thing.
Musk thinks he can bribe people to share his views.
If the government is going to give tax breaks to incentivize commercial development, don’t be surprised if someone leverages those tax breaks for commercial development.
Do (or have) you make use of the mortgage interest tax credit?
Politician #666: “How about, the one where our Socialist Scientists have discovered that leprechauns riding unicorns just below the Earth's surface are REALLY the ones controlling weather. Only paying the leprechauns in gold will cause weather to stop (warming and cooling). All the transactions will be handled by our thoroughly trustworthy governments, but payments will have to go on for hundreds of years.
We'll get 98% of all “scientists” that receive grants to claim it is settled Science.
What do you guys think?”
Satanic Cult Leader/Politician #667: “Of course it will work! We've been able to fool the ignorant masses that SUV’s cause global warming for years despite that fact that temperatures are falling.
This is only slightly more ridiculous. The rubes will EASILY fall for it!”
