On November 2, The Daily Beast pointed to recent statements from President Obama and Hillary Clinton regarding the implementation of Australian-style gun confiscation and suggested âcivil war could erupt on American soilâ if any administration actually tried to confiscate privately owned firearms.
The Daily Beast theoretically agreed that âconfiscation on a massive scaleâ may be âthe only way to solve American gun violence,â but they pointed out that it was not realistic and suggested Hillary risks causing irreparable divisions by talking about confiscation then mocking gun owners as conspiracy theorists waiting for âblack helicoptersâ to come take their guns away.
According to The Daily Beast, confiscation was workable in Australia because there was no Second Amendment and the government only had to take 650,000 guns. That is a far cry from the â350 millionâ believed to be in Americansâ hands.
Yes, â350 million.â
But even more important than the number of guns is the depth of American âdevotionâ to them. And The Daily Beast observes that it is this devotionâthis dedication to the philosophy and tradition underlying the right to keep and bear armsâthat turns the mere mention of confiscation into something that could literally rip the country apart.

I wonder where they came up with the 350 million firearms number?
What is up with the “ââ¬Å” whenever we post an article lately?
It was never an issue in the past?
I can shoot down black helicopters....
They probably had to include all the guns that liberals own but didn’t want anybody to know about ;- )
It’s not mindless tradition - it is that we understand that we have the right to self defense, both from individual criminals and from a Totalitarian government. And a sign of a government headed to Totalitarianism is the desire to disarm the populace.
Gun confiscation - never happen.
It’s known, and supposedly JohnRob is working on it, from a post I saw from JimRob. It really is an annoyance.
One commentor thinks the police won’t come for our guns. Oh yes they will. Or the military. That’s more complicated.
“Silly Back Helicopters” = “If you like your plan you can keep it.”
A world without gun crime is not necessarily a better world.
In an unarmed world, thugs can count on numbers, size, or training to conduct home invasions of occupied homes, in the certainty that they are safe, and they do exactly that in disarmed liberal nations. In an armed America, thugs can never be sure whether an old man or a tiny woman can take them down permanently. We don't have a lot of home invasions with occupied homes. God bless Samuel Colt and the rest of America's gun makers!
I love those articles recently in the news about many in Europe now complaining that they have few weapons with which to defend themselves from the invasion of muslims that’s going on there because they “don’t have a 2nd Amendment like in America.” Gun confiscation will be the libs “reason to be” gong forward. Heaven help us if Hillary gets in the WH.
A line given to me by a wise man that is often appropriate for these sorts of comparisons between the U.S. and Australia, and also for Canada is the following:
“You have to uderstand, they never had a revolution.”
It makes a difference in the mindset.
Gun confiscation - never happen.

A president named Barack Hussein Obama - never happen.
I think the 350M is way low myself. Who is actually going to do this confiscation? The Military? The Police? Both aren’t that stupid.
Bands of volunteer liberal activists going door to door? Yeah, sure. Just try it.
And which judges are going to issue the warrants to do house to house searches?
I think the left is getting close to trying confiscation. Once healthcare insurance collapses and we go single payer, gun confiscation will be the issue and will lead to bloodshed IMO.
Don’t think for a second that the police and yes, the military, won’t come for gun confiscation if they’re ordered.
Dot-mil is paid by dot-gov. Dot-mil will ALWAYS obey Dot-gov.
Kent State. The Bonus Army. The Whiskey Rebellion. The Civil War.
Yeah, they’ll do it.
People need to be less afraid of saying this “out loud”.
Attempted gun confiscation is a declaration of war on the citizens of America.
