Another de-motivator. May angels guide every bullet, calm every hand, focus every eye, and jam every enemy weapon. In the name of the Warrior King, Yeshua Meshiah.
Yes, Capt. Not only is full auto wasteful, the 4th and successive rounds are almost certainly off the target - thus the 3 round burst. Deals with both issues.
Interesting...
Just watched “Lone Survivor” again the other night and looked up what the SEAL team was using (granted, Hollywierd may not have gotten it right).
Apparently, two used the M4 and the other two the MK...
The Tahleebahn used AKs...according to what I read...
Ah, but with what is the administration arming Daesh?
Yeah, now. Don’t know where you go.
Ground hogs. And rock chucks.
Reminds me of my first army days. The M16 was being massively distributed while in basic we trained with the M14. My first overseas assignment we had M1’s. My second assignment was Vietnam, we had M14’s.
What is more important is can the new women and fag grunts carry it all day...
Common names for the yellow-bellied marmot, which are an entirely different rodent than prairie dogs. I suspect that your animal identification skills are no better than your imaginary shooting ability. 600 yards! How many rounds did you spray down range to finally connect with one? And how many degrees of elevation did you apply to get the bullets in the general vicinity of a critter that you can not identify?
Well....
It’s not much of a change, really. Shorter barrel... same mags, same gas impingement operating system. They’re already familiar with everything about it, other than no more 3 round burst.
The M4 carbine is better for CQB, but the longer barrel on the ‘16 rifle gives a little more reach out and touch.
Standardization is the goal, I guess...
Now, if they could just THINK about going with a piston drive system... :^)
(I know... I’m a broken record)
The rifle I use is a Savage 22-250 Varmint bolt action and I use 4,000fps rounds. The rifle is sighted in to 500yds. I used the word pd's as a generic term. In terms of elevation: the earth has a curvature of 8ft per mile. You can do the math.
Just as an aside, I grew up in a military family; dad, uncle, two brothers and a mom who was a military brat. I was also home schooled.
Thank you again for pointing out my faux pas. Have A Pleasant Day.
I defer to Hale’s opinion.
But if I could choose only one firearm for when TSHTF, I still go with an AK-47.
Hope you left your pitch fork home. I catch more guns than fish these days.
Ever since the Civil War, military leaders have opposed giving the troops any kind of "repeating" firearm, on the grounds that they would waste ammunition. Single-shot muskets force the troops to be economical with ammunition.
The newer mini 14s and mini 30s are excellent tools.
My Mini-14 is not the least bit picky about ammo. I wouldn’t be surprised to find it shoots .22LR as well as other cheapo stuff found on the ground. :)
I’ve built a few AR 15s, impingement and piston models. All shoot 22.lr just fine.
Didn't know LMT had a fed contract. They make nice rifles. 'Course so does everyone until they start mass producing for DOD. Not sure why.
