RIP FRed....
Wow!
I just saw him in some football movie and thought he looked pretty good!
I loved the old guy.
He appeared in “Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World”, a funny flick from Albert Brooks.
Rest in Peace, Fred.
Even though the 2008 nominee was already decided, I was proud to cast a “protest” primary vote for Fred. He was a man of moral certitude and common sense.
For America to have turned away such a man in favor of what they chose in 2008, I can only think this:
Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, “It might have been.”
RIP
Cancer? What?
Anyway, he had one hell of life: senator, actor.
R.I.P. Fred
Fred Thompson with then girlfriend, country singer Lorie Morgan
He could deliver a line.
“Big John: If you two wanna turn yourselves into a greasy spot on a country road somewhere, go right ahead. I don’t give a shit and I don’t think anybody else does, regardless what they say to your face. But you two monkeys are not going to do it on my racetrack. Now y’all heard of a “Japanese Inspection?” Japanese Inpsection, you see, when the Japs get in a load of lettuce they’re not sure they wanna let in the country, why they’ll just let it sit there on the dock ‘til they get good and ready to look at. But then of course, it’s all gone rotten... ain’t nothing left to inspect. You see, lettuce is a perishable item... like you two monkeys. You trade paint one more time, you so much as touch, I’m gonna Black Flag the two of you, and take apart your racecars for three-hundred laps. Then, if you pass inspection and you put your cars back together, I might let you back into the race.”
I believe that had Senator Thompson declared himself for president sooner in 2007 he might have won the Republican nomination and saved us from Obama. May his soul rest in peace.
Oh my. I really loved Fred Thompson. I was a Fredhead, along with a lot of freepers. I voted for him in Florida’s primary. He’d call in to Mark’s show and they’d have THE most interesting and informative chats. Fred was funny, irreverent and really loved America. He worried about us, about how the Constitution was being shredded. He was a treasure.
Go with God, Fred...
RIP
He was a good man.
Sad to see this. Thoughts and prayers for the family. RIP

HIS GREAT STATEMENT IN FAVOR OF CONVICTION IN THE SENATE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL:

Certainly someone has already posted this, but we sure will miss Fred. He was a real bright spot for us in a dark time.
We still remember his response to some moderatorâs foolishness in a debate, about having the candidates answer a question by a show of hands...everyone of âem, (except Fred of course ;), was in various stages of raising their hands when Fred read the moderator the riot act - in the politest Southern gentlemanâs way, and the rest of âem couldnât drop their hands fast enough, lol.
Godspeed Fred.

Lord Jesus Christ, rest the soul of Thy servant Fred among the saints and the angels and grant him life everlasting.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
