Poll: Who will drop out of the GOP presidential race next?

On Halloween, this question: Who will be the next Republican to give up the ghost on a White House bid?

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker dropped out of the GOP presidential race in September, a week after what critics called an underwhelming and lackluster performance at the second Republican debate.

The Democratic debate earlier this month felled long-shot candidates Lincoln Chafee, the former governor of Rhode Island, and Jim Webb, a former Virginia senator.

Debates have a way of winnowing the field. Post-debate poll results from the third GOP showdown Wednesday aren't in yet, but the reviews are: U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Gov. Chris Christie all were praised for their showings at this week's third Republican debate. Meanwhile, observers said U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush faded on the primetime stage.

Where do you think the ax will fall next? Vote in the informal, unscientific poll below.

"Why didn’t anybody mention the fact that he was a CNBC contributor. Of course they let him speak. He used to show up on CNBC every week."

He was also a Fox News contributor. That's where I saw him.

Bush must just be a glutton for punishment. The rest are obviously making money. They certainly know they don’t have a snowballs chance of winning.

The race is between Trump, Carson, Cruz and Rubio. I will never vote for Carson or Rubio. Carson is wrong on every issue I can think of, and Rubio is wrong on the most important issue, immigration.

And frankly Rubio and Bush would be good VPs. The nominee would need Florida and both are popular there.

Ha! They're so popular that Trump beating both of them combined in the FL polls. Trump won't need them to win FL or anyplace else. Anyway it's far too early to worry about VP picks.

Doesn’t Bush have to stay to the bitter end in order to be preferentially picked by the GOPe, regardless of how the process is supposed to work or who the voting public wants?

Oh, I have no idea! Almost half the candidates should have bowed out a month ago. If I could pick the one I *want* to drop out next, it’d be Jeb.

My best guess and hope is that he shows up at the convention with two delegates and flat broke.

Didn’t quit, but he doesn’t poll well enough to even get into the kiddie table debates. I don’t know why he’s running.

A bunch will quit after Iowa. We may or may not see any more quitting before that. Rand might (should) cause of the Senate reelection issue. I doubt Christie will. I wish Jeb would.
