A Russian civilian plane with 217 passengers and 7 crew aboard crashed, and is believed shot down by a missile, over Sinai early Saturday morning, Oct. 31, shortly after taking off from the Sinai resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh for St. Petersburg.
Initial reporting on the fate of the plane was confused and is still not completely clear. It was first reported to be missing after contact was lost with Egyptian air control; it was then said to be safely on its way to Russia over Turkey. Russian aviation sources then reported the A321 to be missing over Cypriot air space.
Finally, the Egytian prime minister's office confirmed that a Russian passenger plane had crashed in central Sinai and a cabinet level crisis committee had been formed to deal with the crash.

I am sad to say, that is the way that human nature works, in my experience. We poor descendants of orchid thieves seek revenge, even when it is paid by other innocents.
Did a little research this morning and I don’t think a Stinger or similar MANPAD can be ruled out. A bomb on board is also possible.
“Wow, if this is true, I wonder if detailed analysis will determine that it was shot down with one of the anti-aircraft missiles that Obama & Hillary had smuggled from Libya to âanti-Assad forcesâ (i.e., the Islamists).”
Shoulder fired surface-to-air missiles do not have the range necessary to reach the 30,000 foot plus altitude of this aircraft. If the report of a surface-to-air missile (SAM) is true, the SAM would have to be a full size SAM, launcher, and associated fire control radar systems vehicles.
Okay, Ken, we get it, we get the gist.
Would a launch from a mountain at 4,000 feet increase the service altitude of a Stinger?
Wiki says the range of a Stinger in 1987 was 26,000 feet. Were the Benghazi variants or the ones manufactured by Roketsan in Turkey capable of just a bit more altitude?
There are not too many things that bring a plane down cruising at 35,000 feet. You are looking for a bomb, a missle, or a catastrophic engine explosion.
That aircraft was definitely over bandit country.
If there is one thing Pooty Putin don’t worry about is Political Correctness.
Aside from fighting on Russian soil, they may be ruthless, but not necessarily effective (i.e. Afghanistan).

Putin doesn't roll that way, unlike the pantywaist Obozo:

Prays for survivors
Stingers can be air launched, greatly extending their range.
From their manufacturer:
“Raytheon, which anticipates additional business for helicopter-launched Stingers in the Middle East and Southwest Asia,”
Yes, the crash appears to be a Russian accident set up but Putie .
IF so, then we could see a reversal of roles used against the US by Russia in aiding terrorists to get REAL weapons across the porous border to sleeper cells here with a subsequent campaign of domestic terror attacks.
Simple example: the Christmas season approaches and malls are a terrifying potential starter for terrorists armed with a plastique like the notorious cemtex.
“Another Airbus, tail fell off”.
“Technical issues” that would bring down an A-321 are very, very rare.
Flightradar24.com tracked the plane to 30k+ feet before it came down.

I think you can take this one to the bank.
I am coming to the conclusion that the US government facilitated the creation of ISIS. For certain, by not bombing it into the stone age, they have been protecting it for years. Is Assad worse than ISIS? Your president thinks so.
For some reason your Nobel PEACE Prize winning POTUS is now putting special forces in Syria. What is America's vital interest in making this move? Why is Obama rushing towards an armed confrontation with the Russians?
At that altitude, if it was not a malfunction, then it was more probably a bomb than a missile.
The ME’s a bottomless hellhole for Russians and Americans...
Impossible? Maybe.
And in such a state life is nasty, brutish, and short.
