Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump are tied at the top of the latest 2016 GOP Presidential poll released Friday night by NBC News.
With 26% each, Trump and Carson have the support of over half of the voters polled, an impressive feat in a crowded field.
According to Politico:
“Donald Trump and Ben Carson together command more than half of voters’ preference atop the Republican field after Wednesday night’s debate, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz rose to third place in the latest national NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll released Friday evening.
In a survey of Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters, Trump and Carson both earned 26 percent, while Cruz took 10 percent. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio followed with 9 percent, trailed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (5 percent), Carly Fiorina (4 percent) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (all at 2 percent).â€
The article notes poll respondents thought Cruz won the debate:
Cruz’s stronger showing could be in large part due to the 24 percent of the 1,226 Republicans and leaners who said that he did the best job at the CNBC debate, a larger share than any other candidate. Rubio finished close behind in that regard, with 20 percent. Asked who did the worst, 38 percent picked Bush.â€

Carson is supposed to be at West Memphis, AR high school tonight. They must have had too many for the Denny’s.

I tend to agree. That’s a fight (against Dr. Ben) Trump doesn’t need, at least not right now.

On the ground in Iowa. We work the rallys getting volunteers to sign cards with phone and email info volunteering to take 5, 10, 15, 20 others to caucus. We are re-registering Independents and Lifelong Blue Collar Union DEMOCRATS at the events and later in their workplaces.
We have no doubt the eGOP will bring an air war of unimaginable magnitude, unrestrained by the truth, class, or the comity accorded their democrat ‘friends’. Trump has reserves for that having spent only on tshirts, yard signs and his own plane to date. No need for air war expenditures when one leads…The eGOP will bombard us from the air the week of the caucus. BUT WE OWN THE GROUND, There will be no room left in the rooms for them come caucus day.
I figured that much and thanks for the report. Trump gets anywhere near half of the thousands he gets to all his Iowa rallies, he takes easily Iowa.
