President Obama has authorized sending "less than 50" special operations forces to work in Syria with "local opposition" forces to "train, advise and assist" them in their fight against the Islamic State, a White House spokesman confirmed on Friday.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the troops would not serve in combat roles, but admitted that they could find themselves in harm's way, like Army Master Sgt. Joshua Wheeler, who perished during a special operations forces raid in Iraq last week.
"They do not have a combat mission; they have a training, advise and assist role," Earnest said. "They will not be charging to take a hill."

to advise militants in rebellion against the govt of that country which is working with at least 2 allies to hunt them down or kill them

This is a mission that is designed to fail. When it does fail, or is deemed as ineffective, Obama will say this proves his point that we should not react to ISIS at all. We should be more concerned about our Carbon Footprints than ‘goings on’ in Syria.
Obama doesn’t give a damn about the 50 men who are very likely to be crushed like bugs under an elephant. If he could have sent seven men, one for each day in the week, he would have done that. Didn’t Ash send jeeps to the Kurds three weeks ago? JEEPS that DO NOT HAVE ANY BULLETPROOF ARMOR!!
